7.62x54mmR
From the Call of Duty Wiki
The 7.62x54mmR (the "R" standing for "rimmed", not "Russian" as is commonly believed) is a venerable Russian/Soviet rifle/machine gun cartridge. It was introduced in 1891 with the Mosin-Nagant rifle. Even after over 100 years, it still remains in use in ex-Eastern Bloc countries. The cartridge is still commonly used in the Dragunov sniper rifle and the PK machinegun as the standard full-rifle cartridge. The round became the basis for the 7.62x39mm cartridge used in the AK-47.
