The Aegis-class combat ship is a ship that appears in Call of Duty: Ghosts, mission Into the Deep.

The prototype Aegis-class, an upgrade of Arleigh Burke-class destroyers, was originally tested off the Mexican coast.

By December 2018, the ship had been undergoing extensive trials overseen by Federation scientist leader Victor Ramos. The ship's bow contained a sonic sonar pulse capable of crushing human organs or shattering bones. This was discovered after it was hinted that the testing of the device was used on Federation "volunteers."

The ship is equipped with an advanced air defense system capable of bringing down most aircraft, making aerial assault impossible. One weakness it did have, however, was a weak point underneath the ship that could destroy the vessel entirely if a weapon such as a torpedo were used.

In 2027, the only known Aegis destroyer in the Federation naval fleet was left behind in the Southern Atlantic Ocean to defend a Federation orbital weapons facility, after the Federation Third Fleet responded to a distress signal coming from the Atlas oil platform in Antarctica.

It was destroyed by Logan Walker with a Proteus Missile on June 27th.

Trivia[]

  • The bottom images of the ship in the Rorke File of Into the Deep features two real-life images of an Independence-Class Littoral Combat Ship. This can be supported by the design similarities of the ship to the real-life LCS.
