Allied Powers

The Allied Powers were an alliance made up of many diverse nations.

In World War I, the triple entente, consisting of France, Great-Britain, and Russia (which withdrew from the war at the onset of the Bolshevik revolution) fought the Triple Alliance of Germany, Austira-Hungary, and Italy (which changed sides late in the war). The United States, favoring the triple Entente and assisting it through materiel loans, joined combat in 1917.
The term "Allied poweres" is used mainly to described countries opposing the Axis Powers during World War II . The Allies are featured and played as in the Call of Duty series.
They include mainly Great-Britain and its dominions and the United States. The Soviet Union was also fighting against the Axis powers, but tensions appeared early on and reached a climax at the Yalta conference, breaking the Allied camp into communist and liberal countries.
The dominions of Great Britain include India, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, among others. Other countries also joined the Allied cause, primarily European countries invaded by the Axis. Contigents of those countries fought with the allied, often in dedicated fighting units. They include Poland (1st Polish Corps), France (1st French Army and 2nd Armored division), Czechoslovakia, Belgium, the Netherlands, etc.
