Avenged Sevenfold is a hard rock/heavy metal band from Huntington Beach, California, USA.

They have composed and performed the songs "Not Ready to Die", which be heard by activating all of the meteor chunks in Call of the Dead, and "Carry On". Although not written for the game, "Nightmare" was also featured in the Zombies map Moon after aquiring the "One Giant Leap" trophy/achievement. A shortened version of "Shepherd of Fire" is also heard in Origins' intro cutscene. The full version can be activated as an easter egg by finding three red radios scattered around the map. "Not ready to Die" can be heard in the zombies map Call of the Dead, by finding three element 115 rocks located throughout the map. The members are seen after the credits in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, as there is an epilogue in which the band, along with Frank Woods and Raul Menendez, performs "Carry On". In Black Ops 3, a song titled "Jade Helm" can be selected as a song when you are in the campaign safehouse.

In Call of the Dead, a picture in the style of a Soviet propaganda poster can be seen on a wall near the vault under PhD Flopper, with five of the Avenged Sevenfold members standing in a row. Interestingly, The Rev is featured in the poster in place of Arin Ilejay, despite the fact that Ilejay played in "Not Ready to Die" and The Rev had passed away 18 months before the map was released. There also reads "отомщенные" on top of the poster, which is Russian for "avenged".
