During the Battle of Beaumont-Hague, Pvt. Braeburn called Blake, asking for reinforcements. Blake started by saying "Calm down, Dog Five!" and stated that friendly Sherman tanks were on their way.
After the Battle of Wallendar, Blake met with Sgt. Randall and discussed a field commission to being a Lieutenant. Randall replied "Well, the thing is, we'd be short a Sergeant" and recommended that Cpl. Taylor take his place as squad leader. Blake promoted Randall, but said he would consider Taylor.
