According to Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg the next iteration of the series, Call of Duty: Ghosts, is to get an engine upgrade. "Infinity Ward set the gold standard for first-person action for a generation, and they're going to do it again with Call of Duty: Ghosts."
"Ghosts delivers an all-new story, all-new characters, an all-new Call of Duty world, all powered by a next generation Call of Duty engine, which is a leap forward for the franchise. Infinity Ward is going all-in to create the next generation of Call of Duty worthy of the world's greatest fans."
Whether this means that the IW engine will be getting a massive overhaul or if the IW team are outsourcing the engine remains to be seen. Either way,

ShopTo have apparently refused to stock Call of Duty: Ghosts due to a dispute with Activision. ShopTo asked Activision to send them the copies of Call of Duty: Ghosts on the Sunday or Monday before so that they could send the games out to their customers on launch day. However Activision's retail contract states that copies could not be shipped until a minute after midnight on the launch day, therefore meaning the games will not arrive for customers until after the release.ShopTo have therefore decided to boycott the release of Call of Duty: Ghosts, with ShopTo boss saying:

A patch for the PC has been released for Black Ops II. Details of the patch are listed below:

- Added a limited time game mode to the Bonus Playlist, the Arms Race Team Deathmatch variant awards players 150 score per kill. Let the Scorestreak wars begin.
- Added a new playlist to Party Games that includes all party gamemodes. Get the party started with Party Mix.
- Party matchmaking is no longer determined by the partyleader's content ownership, but is instead determined by any content that is owned by all party members.

Thge newest patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops II has been released for the Xbox 360, and PS3. In this patch new features have been added, MP issues have been fixed, a few tweaks to gameplay balancing, and the issues of Mob of the Dead have been addressed.

According to a report from Kotaku, anonymous sources suggest that Respawn’s game will come to Microsoft’s next-gen console and to Xbox 360, “but no versions for rival PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.”
The new Respawn is supposedly called Titan and will be made on a modified version of Valve's engine, not on internal EA tech or on /. (The IW engine was originally based off an Id Tech engine.) The 'source' also says that Respawn is only working on the Durango version of the game and is hand-picking a studio to make the 360 edition.

As David Vonderhaar recently tweeted Black Ops II would be releasing a new game mode. Recently a few things have been leaked claiming this game mode will be the currently cut game mode Hacker. The game mode would entail the player hacking AGRs on the map in order to get kills. Information found includes a code on the ELITE website and a video of a user playing the game mode. Other information is an image of the game modes icon and sound clips, however these were already in the game files.

Call of Duty: Ghosts has appeared on a Spanish retailers website. This time listing that the game will release on 11th November (probably a placeholder as this is a Monday) on Wii U and PC (as well as on the already confirmed Xbox 360 and PS3).

According to promotional material at GameStop, the next Call of Duty will be revealed on April 30th, with pre-orders starting the next day on May 1st.Call of Duty: Black Ops II got it's first trailer on May 1st last year, however we had already seen a few weeks of teasers before then.

An image of the next Call of Duty has been revealed online. It first appeared on Tesco Direct (the page has now been removed) with a Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 release on the 30th December 2013, however this is probably just a placeholder.It then appeared in an Target advert (seen above) with a PS3 and 360 release on the 5th November 2013 (which is probably the official date) with a pricing of $59.99.
If you remember that a month ago Drift0r said that a reliable source leaked "Call of Duty: Ghosts" to him. Apparently the game will feature:

David Vonderhaar has tweeted that a new "community inspired playlist" is going to be added to Call of Duty: Black Ops II in the near future. The use of "You know the one" suggests that it may be a community gamemode we've seen in previous games such as Drop Zone or Infected.
However the new game mode will not be fan favorite War from Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War as shown in the tweet below. -
Activision’s Senior Director of Global Digital and Mobile sales Jon Estanislao spoke at the DMW Games conference recently and discussed about Call of Duty and their mobile approach:
He went on to say that ATVI’s future experiences on mobile will “evolve” how customers interact with Call of Duty brand. Activision currently only offers watered-down ports of Call of Duty experience on iOS/Android, being the Call of Duty: Zombies series.

Uprising, Call of Duty: Black Ops II's second DLC pack, has been released. It features the multiplayer maps Magma, Studio, Encore, and Vertigo and the new zombies map Mob of the Dead. A patch for Black Ops II has gone live today on the 360. It mainly addresses multiplayer issues, but there is some gameplay balancing and a couple of fixes for zombies too.The patch also hit PlayStation 3 a couple days later, on 4/12/13.

After about a week of speculation and leaks, the Call of Duty: Black Ops II Uprising DLC trailer has been released. Uprising will contain 4 new Multiplayer Maps, Encore, Studio, Vertigo, and Magma and 1 new zombie map Mob of the Dead.
Uprising releases in less than two weeks, April 16th, for Xbox 360.
Along with the new trailer of the Uprising DLC, Treayrch has also announced that there will be double XP from April 12th at 10am PST to April 15th at 10am. This will be on all platforms on Black Ops II. -
A 'stat reset tool' is now available for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Xbox players. This tool allows users that may have had their stats broken by hackers to reset back to a vanilla level 1 and finally level up normally. While it is unlikely Call of Duty 4 will receive any support against the hackers themselves this tool will likely aid anyone wanting to play the multiplayer who previously could not. To use the reset tool simply go here, note that you will need an Activision account to sign in, but nothing else will be needed.

A poster for the new Call of Duty: Black Ops II Uprising DLC has been leaked. As per our previous reports the map pack will include the multiplayer maps Vertigo and Studio and the zombie map Mob of the Dead. Two other maps have been revealed called Encore and Magma. It does not seem like a weapon will appear in the DLC pack. The map pack will apparently be released on Xbox Live on April 16th.
Best Buy is now listing Uprising on it's site. It says that it will cost 1200MSP and will include Vertigo, Encore, Magma, Studio and Mob of the Dead.

UPDATE: Poster for the DLC leakedYoutuber MrDalekJD (Youtube, Twitter) has recently found data in a new update the official Black Ops 2 website. The update added a new section for a new tab in the navigation bar at the top, however the more interesting info was hidden in the page source.
The page source showed a new button for the navigation bar that said:

Just recently, the Call of Duty Endowment corporation announced today that they will be donating $1.1 million for help on charity expansions. These expansions would help veterans with a new funding strategy where grants will be given to areas where potential offices are possible.

With the first details of Bungie's newest project, "Destiny" revealed, Activion's CEO Eric Hirshberg sat down to address some of the hot topics that will be facing Activison and the game industry in 2013 and beyond as the 8th generation of video consoles approaches.When asked about possible problems with Call of Duty's annual releases and release cycle, Hirshberg replied saying:

Treyarch have released a large update for the PS3 that mainly deals with various issue and bug fixing, with emphasis given to some Zombie mode fixes.

It appears that a new DLC, Orientation, has been leaked to the internet via what appears to be a cell phone pic.The DLC advertises four new Multiplayer maps; Water, Southpaw, Mobile, and Plane. It also advertises a new Zombie Map, Dead High. Finally, a new weapon can be seen at the bottom of the screen, but the name of said weapon cannot.
While all this sounds cool, it is just a rumor. And PS3 players don't have to wait much longer for new content, as Revolution drops for them in just 9 days.

As of today, Activision had a Q4 Conference Call. Here they gave a presentation and have listed a "Call of Duty 2013".Activision has confirmed this and stated: "The Call of Duty franchise continues to set the bar for innovation and we expect the new Call of Duty game in development for 2013 to raise that bar even higher."

Despite having its own MLG scene, Activision and Microsoft have announced a worldwide, 32-team Call of Duty Championship with a massive $1,000,000 for Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Players will have the opportunity to compete for the $1,000,000 Purse in the worldwide Call of Duty Championship, taking place in Hollywood, California, on April 5th to April 7th over Xbox 360.
Call of Duty is the already one of the most watched games on YouTube, with multiple YouTube commentators living off ad revenues generated from the massive amount of views.
