According to Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg the next iteration of the series, Call of Duty: Ghosts, is to get an engine upgrade. "Infinity Ward set the gold standard for first-person action for a generation, and they're going to do it again with Call of Duty: Ghosts."
"Ghosts delivers an all-new story, all-new characters, an all-new Call of Duty world, all powered by a next generation Call of Duty engine, which is a leap forward for the franchise. Infinity Ward is going all-in to create the next generation of Call of Duty worthy of the world's greatest fans."

The Call of Duty: Ghosts teaser trailer has been released by Infinity Ward. entitled "Call of Duty: Ghosts Masked Warriors", it portrays several masked warriors over the course of history. The landscape seems very barren, which could allude to some form of post-apocalyptic setting. The video can be seen here:

Infinity Ward have officially revealed the name of the new Call of Duty game, which is as we've all seen, Call of Duty: Ghosts. While there are currently no teasers out yet, all information can be seen on their official Facebook page. It is believed a teaser will be released later today.

A patch for the PC has been released for Black Ops II. Details of the patch are listed below:
- Feature Improvements
- Added a limited time game mode to the Bonus Playlist, the Arms Race Team Deathmatch variant awards players 150 score per kill. Let the Scorestreak wars begin.
- Added a new playlist to Party Games that includes all party gamemodes. Get the party started with Party Mix.
- Party matchmaking is no longer determined by the partyleader's content ownership, but is instead determined by any content that is owned by all party members.
- General improvements to matchmaking.
- Multiplayer Issues Addressed
- Fixed an issue where portions of the screen would be cut off in some display resolutions.
- Fixed a crash that would sometimes occur while rendering a clip.

Thge newest patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops II has been released for the Xbox 360, and PS3. In this patch new features have been added, MP issues have been fixed, a few tweaks to gameplay balancing, and the issues of Mob of the Dead have been addressed.

The Call of Duty Website, callofduty.com, has updated. It now features a "Call of Duty Mosaic" that anyone can contribute to. You can link your Facebook or Twitter, and leave a nice personal message. As more and more people contribute to it, it seems to become a skull shape. The mosaic has now been completed and can be seen below:

As David Vonderhaar recently tweeted Black Ops II would be releasing a new game mode. Recently a few things have been leaked claiming this game mode will be the currently cut game mode Hacker. The game mode would entail the player hacking AGRs on the map in order to get kills. Information found includes a code on the ELITE website and a video of a user playing the game mode. Other information is an image of the game modes icon and sound clips, however these were already in the game files.

After last week’s question about the new maps in the Uprising pack, we’re shifting our attention to the what some might consider the main draw, the new “Mob of the Dead” Zombies map. Featuring some really big Hollywood names as the main cast, how did you guys enjoy the experience? We here at the office found the Alcatraz/San Francisco setting to be very cool, but then again we’re pretty biased as we’re based in SF.
That said, how do you feel the Mob of the Dead gameplay compares to the other Zombies maps? Was Afterlife Mode unique enough to make the game stand out for you? Let us know what you hated/liked in the comments below, but don’t dare complain about the Golden Spork, because that’s just awesome.

Activision’s Senior Director of Global Digital and Mobile sales Jon Estanislao spoke at the DMW Games conference recently and discussed about Call of Duty and their mobile approach:
He went on to say that ATVI’s future experiences on mobile will “evolve” how customers interact with Call of Duty brand. Activision currently only offers watered-down ports of Call of Duty experience on iOS/Android, being the Call of Duty: Zombies series.

Black Ops 2’s Uprising map pack DLC arrived earlier today, so thanks for pulling yourself away for a few moments to read this post! Now that you’ve had a few hours to play around with it, we’d like to hear what kind of strategies you’ve developed for the new maps.
Does the deadly lava in Magma require any special consideration? What kind of loadouts have been working for you on Encore? Have you found any particularly successful ambush points on Vertigo?

Uprising, Call of Duty: Black Ops II's second DLC pack, has been released. It features the multiplayer maps Magma, Studio, Encore, and Vertigo and the new zombies map Mob of the Dead. Uprising is available for 1200 Microsoft Points from the Xbox marketplace and is free to season pass holders. The PS3 and PC release will likely come next month.

A patch for Black Ops II has gone live today on the 360. It mainly addresses multiplayer issues, but there is some gameplay balancing and a couple of fixes for zombies too.The patch also hit PlayStation 3 a couple days later, on 4/12/13.

- Players will now control the last Scorestreak called when calling in multiple remote controllable Scorestreaks.

After about a week of speculation and leaks, the Call of Duty: Black Ops II Uprising DLC trailer has been released. Uprising will contain 4 new Multiplayer Maps, Encore, Studio, Vertigo, and Magma and 1 new zombie map Mob of the Dead.
Uprising releases in less than two weeks, April 16th, for Xbox 360.
Along with the new trailer of the Uprising DLC, Treayrch has also announced that there will be double XP from April 12th at 10am PST to April 15th at 10am. This will be on all platforms on Black Ops II. -

Just recently, the Call of Duty Endowment corporation announced today that they will be donating $1.1 million for help on charity expansions. These expansions would help veterans with a new funding strategy where grants will be given to areas where potential offices are possible.

Treyarch have released a large update for the PS3 that mainly deals with various issue and bug fixing, with emphasis given to some Zombie mode fixes.

It appears that a new DLC, Orientation, has been leaked to the internet via what appears to be a cell phone pic.The DLC advertises four new Multiplayer maps; Water, Southpaw, Mobile, and Plane. It also advertises a new Zombie Map, Dead High. Finally, a new weapon can be seen at the bottom of the screen, but the name of said weapon cannot.
While all this sounds cool, it is just a rumor. And PS3 players don't have to wait much longer for new content, as Revolution drops for them in just 9 days.

Xbox 360 has received an update preparing it for the upcoming Map Pack Revolution. The update has added a "Revolution" playlist which will consist of only Revolution maps, it has also added the needed data for the Peacekeeper, however this has lead to "Barracks" and "Create-a-class" having a constant "New" sign next them. PS3 is stated as "Receiving it soon", no details were given about PC.
The update has also added a variety of tweaks to the gameplay:
- Added support for Live Streaming in all Public Match playlists.
- Added League Best from Season 1 to Player Card.

Treyarch has released a new Live-Action trailer for the Revolution DLC pack called "The Replacer". The trailer offers some nice glimpses at all the new multiplayer maps, shows some cool shots of the new Peacekeeper and has a couple of clips of Turned and Die Rise to boot.
Revolution will be released on January 29th to Xbox 360 owners and is expected to come out a month later for PS3 and PC, as usual.
Leading up to Revolution release, Treyarch has also announced a Double XP weekend this weekend (Jan. 25th - 28th) so get ready to play some multiplayer this weekend!
For those who don't know, Revolution will include 4 Multiplayer maps, Hydro, Grind, Downhill, and Mirage, a new weapon for Multiplayer, the Peacekeeper, a new Zombies gamemode Turned and a new Zombies map Die Rise.

Earlier this morning, Amazon UK revealed details on the Black Ops II DLC "Revolution". Revolution is the first DLC Pack for Black Ops II, it includes four new maps for Mutliplayer, a new Zombie map, and a new Weapon, The Peacemaker, an SMG.Details on the Maps and Weapon include:
- Hydro - A large Map that allows you to use the Dam and Water to your advantage, to block paths and stop enemies.
- Downhill - A medium sized Map, set in the French Alps, complete with snow, chair lifts, and a strategically placed lodge.
- Grind - A small skate park Map placed based within California Boardwalk; this map will deliver fast Call of Duty action.
- Mirage - Set within the Gobi Desert, this Map sets forth sand dunes, used for providing different levels of elevation. The Map also includes a sanctuary in the center…

Back in May, Activision CEO settled a lawsuit with former employees Jason West and Vince Zampella, both now of Respawn Entertainment. In a recent interview with the New York Times, Bobby briefly explained why Infinity Ward developers Jason West and Vince Zampella were both fired back in 2010.
- “You find out two executives are planning to break their contracts, keep the money you gave them and steal 40 employees. What do you do? You fire them,” he says.
Also, whilst many criticize the campaign of recent Call of Duty titles as being closer to a movie than a game, Bobby has shown little interest in turning it into one — and has turned down several studios’ requests. He says movies based on video games rarely please devoted fans and could taint the brand.
