Why I Deleted the Talk Page for the Invasion of Virginia Edit

I'm sorry for deleting a talk page, but I have my reasons. It was something I wrote because I had an inquiry to a problem that was corrected immediately after I wrote it. Once it was corrected, I figured it wasn't a discussion needed anymore. But I apologise, and I would like to know what I could do if I create an article that isn't required the instant something is changed or corrected?
