Carbon takes place in a factory in Somalia, Africa. There are catwalks throughout the center of the map that can be a key to winning. There are not many flanking routes on the map. Carbon can be hectic on Ground War, Search and Destroy, and Team Defender. An assault rifle can be very useful here. The main building in the center plays host to some of the fiercest fighting on any game mode.
Underneath the main pipe section, there appears to be a red flashing light with nothing to contain it, such as a bulb.
There is two-dimensional smoke coming from behind the chimneys at the northwest outside of the map, instead of directly out of the chimney.
There is an extremely large quarry outside the south side of the map, which can be seen in Theater mode. This quarry is well over 15-25x the size of the map itself.
Atop the building in front of the African Militia spawn there is a sign displaying the company name "Zaring Industries." The same name is on the sign above the only accessible building on the map Interchange.
There is a teddy bear inside a brown pipe near the center of the map.
There are multiple teddy bears behind some barrels inside the Zaring building.
