Carentan, France

Carentan, France is a town and commune of the Manche département in Normandy, France. It is also the chief town of the canton of Carentan in the arrondissement of Saint-Lô. This town is close to the site of the World War II Battle of Bloody Gulch.

As for the game, Carentan is a popular multiplayer map in Call of Duty (mp_carentan), Call of Duty: United Offensive (mp_uo_carentan) and Call of Duty 2. A probable reason for its popularity may be its extremely strong resemblance to Carentan as seen in Band of Brothers episode three, "Carentan". The most recognizable structure from the Band of Brothers is the chicken coup. As well, in Call of Duty 2, there is a piano in the middle of the street like the one seen in the Band of Brothers introduction.

Carentan was remade into a Chinatown-esque map in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, named Chinatown.

• In an episode of the show, "The Office", the employees of the office building play Call of Duty: United Offensive on multiplayer to supposedly build kinship among co-workers. At one point, one co-worker yells "You don't snipe in Carentan!".
