Carlson's Raiders make up 2nd Raider Battalion of the Marine Raiders. They were a group of elite Marines that scouted out Japanese bases in the Pacific during World War II. These marine raiders specialized in amphibious attacks behind enemy lines. They are featured in the Pacific Campaign of Call of Duty: World at War and are one of the multiplayer factions available to play.
Call of Duty: World at War[]
Carlson's Raiders appear in the campaign mission "Semper Fi". They rescue the main playable character C. Miller and his reconnaissance team from a Japanese base on Makin Atoll. They then set out to complete their night raid of the Japanese military installation on Makin Atoll. This is their only appearance within the campaign since all other levels within World at War occur in late 1944 after the Marine Raider battalions had been disbanded.
