Sergeant Daletski (Russian: Далетский) was a Soviet soldier during the Battle of Stalingrad in Call of Duty: World at War, seen in the level "Vendetta". He was one of the survivors of the massacre Petrenko and Reznov were caught in at the fountain. He saves them from capture by a small squad of Germans and proceeds to lead an attack on the nearby communications building. When the attack is successful, he proceeds to lead the unit towards General Amsel's headquarters. He and his squad approach the base and immediately two are killed. Just before Amsel comes out, a german Tiger Tank fires on Daletski's piece of cover. Then, a German fires his MG42 at Daletski and kills him. Daletski's character model is randomly generated.

TriviaEdit

• Daletski may have been Dimitri's commanding officer before Reznov, as he recognizes Dimitri after saving him.
• At the area where Amsel is assassinated, Daletski and other soldiers are taking cover behind the wall in front on a building.
• As mentioned above if one looks longer, he will be killed by the entire Wehrmacht Army, however he will take many bullets in the process due to the event system which causes him to lose his Plot armor, which will be delayed until the game progresses a bit further (which is usually triggered by Reznov saying a new line). As a result, it will look quite humorous to see him jitter around a lot until eventual death.
• Daletski says "We thought you were among the dead in the massacre at the square!" That could mean that there were many more soldiers in Daletski's squad but only a few got away.
• If one looks closely at the picture above, the Hammer and Sickle on Daletski's Ushanka (Russian For Cap) is tilted to the right.
• If a player walks over to the building where Daletski and his squad came from, it's just a big empty room with no doors.
• If player uses the noclip console command and clips to the place where Daletski comes from, one can notice he and his men simply stand there frozen, and will automatically start shooting when the German soldier with the flamethrower is about to burn Reznov.
• His rank is Sergeant but he doesn't wear a uniform like Reznov and has no insignia. The reason for this is that his appearance is randomly-generated.
• Game files reference his model and character data sheet as "Daletsky."
• Daletski can survive, if the player shoots the MG42 gunner, then Daletski will run away. However, the Germans starts running after him, so it's unknown what happened to him.
