"Deeper bullet penetration."
— Perk description

Deep Impact is a tier 3 perk in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered that gives a player increased bullet penetration.

Deep Impact decreases damage loss when penetrating surfaces with bullets. This allows users to lose very little damage when shooting through thin materials, while also allowing them to shoot through materials that normally cannot be shot through. It also allows the user to penetrate walls from more angles. Deep Impact does not increase bullet damage to an exposed enemy, and also does not give players the ability to penetrate every type of material.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare Remastered[]

This perk is used to more efficiently dispatch enemies behind light cover. It is most effective with weapons featuring high rate of fires, large magazine sizes and weapons with sustained fire such as Light Machine Guns and some Assault Rifles. Deep Impact is also effective on SMGs in Hardcore gamemodes (besides the AK-74u), as they have low cover penetration.

Deep Impact is available with the Heavy Gunner and Sniper default classes.

Call of Duty: World at War[]

Similar in function to its predecessor, Deep Impact is used to more efficiently dispatch enemies behind light cover. It is most effective with weapons featuring high rate of fires and weapons with sustained fire such as Heavy Machine Guns.

There are certain challenges that can be completed easier, like "X-Ray Vision", with the help of this perk.

Trivia[]

  • As seen in game menu source files and the teaser, the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare version of Deep Impact was originally a Tier 2 perk.
