The Distraction Drone is a tactical grenade that appears in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare in the Exo Zombies gamemode. It is available via the 3D Printer. The drone's appearance is very similar to the Tracking Drone, but is much larger in size.

Effects[]

Similar to how the Monkey Bomb functions in Zombies, it will immediately deploy after hitting the floor once launched or thrown. The drone will then emit an extremely loud siren and it will attract every zombie in the general vicinity. Unlike the Monkey Bomb, it takes lesser time to arm it and it will explode in five to six seconds. The explosion itself will not harm any of the players.

Its use remains the same as for the Monkey Bomb. The Distraction Drone can be thrown to allow the player(s) to reload, retrieve power-ups, or revive downed players. Drones are also replenished by a Full Reload power-up. Therefore, throwing one to retrieve the power up is not a waste. Additionally, one is refilled at the beginning of each round if the player has less than the maximum amount of three. Another good strategy is to get close to the horde of zombies around the Drone and either throw grenades or fire powerful weapons, which will quickly kill all of the zombies. More points can be obtained if done with a weapon with high penetration, such as an Ameli, S-12 or a Pytaek. It does, however, take more time to activate depending on where you throw/launch it. An example being if you were to send it straight up in the air, it would take another couple seconds for it to land, then activate.

Since it takes up the Tactical Equipment slot, it can be replaced by the Explosive Drones, Nano Swarm grenades, Teleport Grenade, and the Repulsors if the player buys them, and vice versa.
