The Dragon Wings is an item in the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Zombies map, Gorod Krovi. It can be found on a mannequin facing a wall in the Department Store's third floor, close to the black valve. If the player takes a straight path from the top level of the Infirmary opening the debris to the Department Store, it will be along the right wall.

It is one of three wearable items on the map, the others being the Valkyrie Drone Hat and Mangler Helmet. All can be unlocked and swapped at will in the same game, but only one can be equipped at a time.

When equipped, the player gains the following traits::

  • 30% explosive damage resistance
  • 30% fire damage resistance
  • Summoning the Dragon to ride to the Hatchery is now free, as to assist other players who may not have the Dragon Wings currently equipped.
  • Being near a Dragon summon platform (specifically, a single metal post at each station will have miniature Dragon Wings) allows the wielder to instantly teleport to the Hatchery where Pack-a-Punch is located without needing to ride the Dragon. This saves roughly 20 seconds of waiting each time this ability is used.

In order to obtain the Dragon Wings, players have to perform the following in any order:

  • After assembling the Dragon Network Controller, ride the Dragon to the Hatchery from each station at least once found at Dragon Command, Tank Factory, and Supply Depot respectively. This can be done in any order.
  • Acquire the Dragon Strike. It does not need to be upgraded.
  • Finish fully incubating the Dragon Egg used in the multi-phase process to obtain the Gauntlet of Siegfried. The Gauntlet must be in at least one player's inventory for this requirement to be fulfilled.

In co-op, progress towards the above challenges is shared between all players like the other two wearable items on Gorod Krovi, the Mangler Helmet and Valkyrie Drone Hat. If at least one person has the Dragon Wings available, it is available to all. It is worth mentioning that the requirement for riding the Dragon from every station is shared with a Trial requiring the same objective. Unlike the Dragon Wings which can be collectively performed in co-op, if a player has this Trial, they must personally ride the dragon from every station to complete the Trial.

This item offers considerable utility. It now cost 0 Points to summon the Dragon, making players who may prefer the other wearable items able to ride the Dragon for free if a Dragon Wings player activates the console at the stations. Additionally, even if the player can make themselves immune to fire breathed by the Dragons by holding out the Guard of Fafnir, any Napalm Zombies created by the flames can cause unwanted residual splash damage if killed too close. Finally, the time saved of roughly 20 seconds each time the player wishes to visit the Hatchery to Pack-a-Punch drastically changes the capability of being where needed much faster.
