Sergeant Edward Carlyle was a British commando who fought in the North Africa campaign during World War II, as seen during the events of Call of Duty: Finest Hour. He appears as a playable character in the game. He was put in charge of demolitions because of his degree in Chemistry.[1]

Biography

In the beginning of his career, Edward Carlyle worked as a chemistry teacher in England. Sometime before he joined the British army he became married. 

Eventually, Edward Carlyle joined the British army and became a commando as part of the PPA or Popski's Private Army and worked with Bob Starkey. As Edward Carlyle, the player takes part in some Commando raids in Northern Africa against the German troops lead by General Rommel. He was then promoted to the rank of sergeant.

Trivia

  • He has a tattoo on his left arm.
  • In Call of Duty 2, there is an unplayable British soldier called Carlyle, who serves with the player in the North Africa and the liberation of Caen.
