The Enfield is Hudson's primary starting weapon during the level "Rebirth". It has the ERDL Camouflage with an Infrared Scope and a Masterkey attachment; this scope is useful for seeing enemies through the loose Nova 6, as it picks up thermal signatures that cannot be blocked by the gas.
The Enfield is the second Assault Rifle unlocked in the game, unlocked at level 5.
Its damage per bullet is on the higher end of Assault Rifles. While the range of the weapon isn't as large as other weapons, it can kill between three shots up close, and four shots at a distance. As well, two headshots up close and three headshots at a distance will kill the enemy. To counterbalance this good damage per bullet, the Enfield's rate of fire is only a moderate 750 RPM.
Accuracy is fairly decent. The iron sights may or may not suit the user's preference, and the recoil is moderately low. This makes it a fairly accurate assault rifle in most cases.
Handling of the weapon is pretty normal. The hip-fire spread is average, and the reload time is at a moderate 2.45 seconds/3 seconds. However, the ADS time of the Enfield is that of an SMG. At 200 milliseconds, many veteran players will be able to place their first bullet on an enemy quicker than with other Assault Rifles.
The Enfield has the usual assortment of attachments. Optics are not primarily needed on the weapon, but can be used if the iron sights are disliked. The Red Dot Sight and the Reflex Sight both work well to replace the iron sights. However, the ACOG Scope dons the player a SUSAT, much like the with the L96A1 and the L86 LSW, with the white tip on the needle marking where the bullet will land. The recoil on the Enfield will increase, making it a risky attachment option. The Infrared Scope is practically ineffective against Ghost Pro users, and it makes the bullet spread drastically bigger while in ADS. However, centerspeed is not lowered on the Enfield when using the Infrared Scope, unlike the majority of weapons, making it a good choice if one wanted to use said scope.
The Suppressor turns it into a decent stealth weapon. The faster aim time can come in handy with this attachment, as it can easily catch enemies off guard, and can effectively cost the enemy their life.
Magazine modifications are there, too. Extended Mags increases the size to 45 rounds, which can be useful if the player plans on tackling multiple enemies at once. As well, Dual Mags gives the player more ammunition, and will also make the first reload (and every second one after it) much faster. It can come in handy if the player isn't using Sleight of Hand or Scavenger.
Underbarrels are there as well. The Masterkey and Flamethrower can bolster the Enfield's close-range performance. As well, the Grenade Launcher makes for a good room-clearing weapon. Shoot it into a high traffic area or objective point, and one can find satisfying results.
When it comes to perks, the Enfield isn't very reliant on perks compared to other weapons. The Sleight of Hand Pro isn't that big of a necessity, as the Enfield already aims faster than other Assault Rifles. Steady Aim can turn the weapon into a SMG-Assault Rifle hybrid, having the ADS time and hip-fire spread of an SMG, while still carrying out rifle-class damage. Hardened Pro could be used to easily penetrate softer surfaces, and can also protect the player against an untimely flinch.
In conclusion, the Enfield is a bizarre weapon in its own right. With SMG-grade aim times and the damage of an Assault Rifle, the Enfield can potentially be deadly at any range. Marking its name as an Assault Rifle, the Enfield, with proper usage, can achieve times-to-kill beyond what was once possible for an Assault Rifle, all due to the faster aim time.
As well, due to this faster aim time, the Enfield serves extremely popular with players who Prestige, as its faster aim time can make up for the absence of Sleight of Hand Pro, while carrying out a respectful damage profile.
