Field is a multiplayer map in Call of Duty: World at War (Nintendo DS). It is a farming area with buildings on each side of the map and an open field in the center making this a great map for sniping. It is the multiplayer map for the campaign level "Off Target". It is also one of the few maps to feature the Panzerschreck as an acquirable weapon, and on the opposed farms the Kar98K and the Type 97 sniper rifles can be found, which can be used for tactical sniping.
Field was completely retextured by n-Space and added a few changes in the map. The map was given a much brighter environment and more detailed texture than the previous game. The crops at the central area of the map were retextured and replaced by a US Armour, hay stacks, and boxes. The map was given a water tower between the two buildings which is accessible through climbing a ladder. The farmhouse lost its sniper nest and instead, replaced by an open room which provides access to the roof and an exit away from the farm house. The map still features the tight rooms inside the buildings and small battlefield at the center of the map which provides the fast-paced action in game, however, due to this features, it is most likely to die after a few seconds of respawn especially in free-for-all gamemodes. It is advised to use Protection Perk for it may solve this common problem. Field is a commonly chosen map in game lobbies and favoured among many players.
In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3: Defiance, in the two houses on either side. The player can find pictures of a whale and a shattered picture frame hanging on the walls.
Field was voted the most favourite multiplayer map on the official Defiance (DS) Facebook fan page.
In the DS version, there is a popular two player glitch is located in a corner of the map. On the stone area of the map, on the opposite side of a cart, one player can get out of the map using teamwork. To do this, one player (an enemy) must crouch down and point their gun down in the corner. This creates a stepstool that allows other players to exit the map. While one player does this, another can simply walk over them and they will walk over a bush that is the boundary of the map.
