Extra Lethal is a perk featured in Call of Duty: Ghosts and a Loadout Option in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare that allows the player to carry two of the same lethal grenade.

Call of Duty: Ghosts[]

Extra Lethal is present in Call of Duty: Ghosts an Equipment tier perk. The cost of this perk does not include the cost of equipping a Lethal, making the total cost for this perk 3 points.

This perk does not affect the Shotgun or Grenade Launcher attachments, both of which block the Lethal slot.

Extra Lethal is most commonly used alongside I.E.D.s and C4. Extra Lethal with the I.E.D. equipped allows for improved defense by either allowing it to defend another flank route or by allowing for multiple flank routes to be covered at once. With C4, it allows for more offensive application of C4, and is most commonly used on Riot Shield classes where the additional C4 often serves a vital piece of the Riot Shield user's limited sustained offensive capability.

Despite being essentially useless to those who don't have lethal equipment on their class, it is still possible for a Gambler user to get Extra Lethal from the perk even when they lack lethal equipment. It also makes Extra Lethal useless as a perk to acquire in a Specialist Strike Package, be it from the standard perks acquired along the way or as part of the Specialist Bonus. Extra Lethal only truly works on classes that have non-attachment lethal equipment already that equip Extra Lethal as one of their main perks. For those using Gambler, it is worth considering using a piece of lethal equipment in order to gain actual benefit should Extra Lethal be rolled.

Although Extra Lethal has restrictions as it pertains to when it is actually useful, it is among the most commonly used equipment perks, and it is not particularly uncommon to see players making extensive use of the extra equipment provided from Extra Lethal, be it defensively or offensively.
