The Spectre M4 is an Italian[1] submachine gun featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Campaign[]

The Spectre can be found in one of the weapons caches during "Numbers". A picture of the Spectre can also be briefly seen during the opening cutscene, along with a picture of the Kiparis. A Spectre can be found used in the hands of Shabs during the end of "Numbers".

Multiplayer[]

The Spectre is unlocked at level 41 and is the second-to-last submachine gun to be unlocked.

At any range short of 17.5 meters, the Spectre will deal thirty damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill. Damage decreases linearly until 25 meters. At any range past 25 meters, the Spectre will deal twenty damage per bullet, needing four shots to kill. The Spectre has a four shot kill range of 21.9 meters. In Hardcore game types, the Spectre's one shot kill range is 17.5 meters. The Spectre deals forty percent extra damage on a headshot. This can reduce the number of shots to kill required in Core game types at any range, although a headshot will rarely make a difference in Hardcore. The Spectre has low penetration power.

The Spectre fires fully automatically, firing at a rate of 937 RPM.

The Spectre has recoil values of 10 to the left, 60 to the right, 60 upwards, and 20 downwards. The Spectre has a centerspeed of 1700.

The Spectre allows users to move at 100% of the base movement speed, or strafe at 80% of the base movement speed. The Spectre allows users to aim down the sights in 200 milliseconds, and the Spectre's hip-fire spread is small. The Spectre's reload animation is 2.3 seconds long, or 3 seconds long to reload an empty magazine. The user can Reload Cancel after 1.75 seconds.

The Spectre has a magazine capacity of thirty rounds, and a starting ammo loadout of 120 rounds.

The Spectre has the standard assortment of SMG attachments available. All attachments work as intended on the Spectre.

Zombies[]

This weapon is available in Kino der Toten, Five, Ascension, Call of the Dead, Shangri-La, Moon, and all of the classic zombies maps redone on Call of Duty: Black Ops. It is the only submachine gun to be in the Mystery Box. It is very weak against zombies (unless the player is going for headshots) and its reserved ammo is relatively low. It is very good for earning points in later rounds as it has a high fire rate, and takes several magazines to kill only a few zombies. It has almost no recoil, thus obtaining headshots with ease.

When Pack-A-Punched, its name becomes the "Phantom", and features a Reflex Sight with a random reticule, higher damage, larger magazine capacity and more reserved ammo. The Pack-a-Punched version is still weak, making it an unpopular choice to Pack-a-Punch, but retains its low recoil and high fire rate. It makes a decent side weapon for heavier guns, since it is a high mobility weapon that runs out of ammo quickly.
