The PSG1 is a semi-automatic sniper rifle featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Call of Duty: Black Ops[]

Campaign[]

The PSG1 is only seen in "Numbers". It appears in the first and second weapon caches, and is very powerful, killing enemies in one shot just about anywhere in the body. However, the gun's extreme recoil is somewhat of a problem, so it is recommended to trade it for the more common Dragunov, unless the player can control the recoil.

Multiplayer[]

The PSG1 is a "Classified" weapon, unlocked for purchase after the WA2000 and L96A1 are purchased (except for the Wii version where one can buy it without buying the L96A1 first).

The PSG1 deals seventy damage per bullet before factoring in body multipliers. The PSG1 deals 105 damage to the midsection, and 140 damage to the head and neck. This allows for a one shot kill to said areas. The PSG1 will fail to get a one shot kill if a bullet hits any of the limbs. The PSG1 has high penetration power.

The PSG1 fires semi-automatically, with a maximum rate of fire of 234 RPM. The user must wait at least 256 milliseconds before the next shot can be fired.

The PSG1 kicks up and to the right on every shot, with varying intensity. The PSG1 does not kick to the left or downwards. The recoil values to the right are either 80 or 95, and the recoil values going up are either 80 or 95. The PSG1 has a centerspeed of 1000.

The PSG1 allows users to move at 95% of the base movement speed, or strafe at 40% of the base movement speed. The PSG1 allows users to aim down the sights in 400 milliseconds, and the hip-fire spread is very wide. The PSG1's reload animation is 3.2 seconds long, or 3.5 seconds for an empty magazine. The player can Reload Cancel after 2.2 seconds.

The PSG1 has a magazine capacity of five rounds, and a starting ammo loadout of twenty rounds.

The PSG1 gets the usual assortment of sniper rifle attachments. All attachments work as expected on the PSG1.

Trivia[]

  • When using the Variable Zoom scope, no matter what magnification being used, the crosshairs will always say the scope is at 12x magnification.
  • When picked up, the user will turn off the safety.
  • In the scope it says "Matte 4 Plex Riflescope Redfarm MP 12 x 40mm".
  • In the Wii version of Black Ops, the PSG1 lacks a 1.5 multiplier to the stomach if attachments are equipped. This problem was also on the PS3 and Xbox 360, but it was fixed on those consoles.
  • The killfeed icon on the PSG1 is pictured with Extended Mags.
