The Type 25 (called Type 95 in the game files) is a bullpup assault rifle featured in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Call of Duty: Strike Team and Call of Duty: Mobile.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]

"Fully automatic assault rifle. High rate of fire with moderate recoil."
— Description

Campaign[]

David Mason uses the Type 25 in Cordis Die with a Reflex Sight as part of the recommended class. The Type 25 also appears in the mission Judgment Day.

Multiplayer[]

The Type 25 is the second weapon in the assault rifle category, unlocked as soon as Create-a-class is unlocked, but still requires an unlock token.

At any range short of 37.5 meters, the Type 25 will deal 33 damage per bullet, taking four shots to kill. At any range beyond 37.5 meters, the Type 25 will deal 24 damage per bullet, taking five shots to kill, or two in Hardcore game types. The Type 25 deals 10% extra damage on a headshot. Headshots will reduce the number of shots needed to kill by one in Core game types, but in Hardcore game types, the headshot bonus is irrelevant, as the Type 25 at long range will still need 2 shots to kill. The Type 25 also has medium penetration power.

The Type 25 fires fully automatically, firing at a rate of 937 RPM.

The Type 25 has recoil values of 10 to the left, 50 to the right, 55 upwards, and 20 downwards. The Type 25 has a centerspeed value of 1700. This centerspeed value increases to 1800 if using the burst fire mode via Select Fire.

The Type 25 allows users to move at 96.5% of the base movement speed, or strafe at 40% of the base movement speed. The Type 25 has a slighter hip-fire spread than most assault rifles. The Type 25's reload animation is 2.375 seconds long, or 3.05 seconds on an empty magazine. In either case, the user can Reload Cancel the Type 25 after 1.7 seconds.

The Type 25 has a magazine capacity of thirty rounds, and a starting ammo loadout of 120 rounds.

The standard assortment of attachments are available to the Type 25. All attachments work as expected on the Type 25.

Zombies[]

"Type 25...you're my type alright! Full auto, high capacity and goes like a coal-burning freight train!"
Marlton Johnson, when obtaining the Type 25 from the Mystery Box in Die Rise

The Type 25 can be purchased out of the Mystery Box for 950 points; with Mob of the Dead and Buried not featuring the Type 25 (replaced by the MTAR when removed from the Weapon Locker). Much like the Famas from Black Ops, the Type 25 suffers from a low ammo capacity of only 150 rounds, long and commonplace reloads, low damage, and very high and unpredictable recoil. It can help in the accumulation of points, but overall, there are better choices such as the MTAR due to its higher reserve capacity and the Galil due to it also having a higher reserve capacity but also a higher magazine capacity. Double Tap II is not very good on the Type 25, as the already high ROF becomes next to uncontrollable, and ammunition supplies will deplete fast.

When Pack-a-Punched via the Pack-a-Punch Machine, it becomes the Strain 25. It gains an ammo reserve of 270 rounds, higher damage, and two attachments, a Reflex Sight and a Fast Mag. It is one of the weapons able to be Pack-a-Punched multiple times for 2000 points, cycling through different attachments, but retains the Fast Mag attachment. These attachments include the Grenade Launcher, EOTech Sight, Target Finder, and MMS.

The Type 25 is a cut weapon from Call of Duty: Black Ops III. It can be seen in pre-alpha footage, taking the same appearance it did in Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Call of Duty: Mobile[]

"Fully automatic assault rifle. High rate of fire with moderate recoil."
— Description

The Type 25 returns in Call of Duty: Mobile.

Multiplayer[]

The gun features moderate damage, low recoil and fast fire rate. The mobility is average for assault rifles, so it is recommended that mobility attachments are equipped on this gun. This gun is the best used for supporting lanes and eliminating enemy from medium distance. With the Stopping Power Reload mag, the gun will deal more damage, though the difference is nigh-negligible.

Battle Royale[]

The gun can deal high damage with very high fire rate, allowing it to kill well-armored enemies in a blink of an eye. It also has relatively controllable recoil. However, the damage falls off rather quickly at range, and the recoil can make it less effective.

Trivia[]

Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]

  • The Type 25 appears to have some variant of digital camouflage on it by default.
  • The Type 25 replaced the Type 95 at some point after the E3 demonstration of the game, as indicated by the Type 25 reusing the Type 95's E3 pick-up icon. This is supported by the fact that the Type 25 is still referred to as the Type 95 in most game files.
  • Unlike most assault rifles, the iron sights are not folded down or removed when attaching optics.
