The Y-8 Gunship is a special Field Order reward in the Call of Duty: Ghosts Invasion DLC map Favela. It functions very similarly to the AC-130 from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Like the AC-130, it has three fire modes and highlights enemy players in orange squares. Its high altitude also allows for it to shoot down enemy helicopters easily.

Also, like with the AC-130, the Y-8 Gunship can be shot down, though since only the MAAWS is capable of lock-on, and since the Y-8 Gunship has two sets of flares, three MAAWS shots are needed to shoot it down. Therefore, it is imperative that two players of the team use the MAAWS in such a case.
