Zürich, Switzerland is a location in V.E.R.S.I.O.N. and Call of Duty: Black Ops III. The city is the home of the Coalescence Corporation and the nightclub Turicum. It is protected by the Zürich Security Forces.
Overview[]
Zürich is first featured in the mission "New World", where the Player, inside a simulation during surgery is tasked with preventing a terrorist attack on December 12th, 2054 from an unidentified terrorist cell. The Player is guided by Taylor, Diaz, Hall and Maretti during each segment of the simulation of Zürich. In the mission "Life", Hendricks launches a terrorist attack on the Coalescence Corporation Headquarters in downtown Zürich, taking control of Coalescence's robots around the entire city, causing chaos, death and destruction around the city.
In multiplayer, Metro takes place in Zürich.
In V.E.R.S.I.O.N., it is mentioned that following the Singapore Disaster, Zürich took over the mantle as innovation capital of the world, with money and talent flowing out of Singapore and into Zürich, making it a world source of scientific research for commercial, civilian and military applications. Zürich is so advanced that many electronics recharge wirelessly; a building possessing a physical plug socket is considered to be a sign of advanced age. Manually operated windows and light switches are also considered technological anarchronisms.
