I propose a new rule to counter all of this blogging: For every blog comment or blog creation a user does, said user shall make 5 edits to the mainspace. This would help the mainspace with all of this blogging, and if user decide to get lazy, slow down blogging. Your input would be appreciated. Maj.Gage Talk. 18:41, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose — I think this is a bad idea. We would be forcing users to do something, which we shouldn't in my opinion. Also, I'm sure that this rule would be broken a lot. Cpl. Dunn(Talk) 18:45, July 21, 2010 (UTC)
Oppose — I think it would just encourage smaller, less important edits - 18:46, July 21, 2010 (UTC)
Oppose — Then I would have to do about 5,000 mainspace edits in what, before I get blocked, like one week?W567123daniel 19:30, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose — Who are we to tell users what to do on the wiki? Also, is blogging really that much of a problem? Is there a valid reason behind this topic?LITE992 20:56, July 21, 2010 (UTC)
Oppose — I don't find that to be a fair or just amendment, that's just like saying "For every piece of candy you eat, you must eat five servings of vegetables. Otherwise, no Happy Meal." Talk?01:00, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose — Terrible idea. I hate it. I would quit the Wiki altogether if something like this EVER gets passed, and I am sure a lot of other people would, too. TheManOfIron 01:04, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
Oppose — Though I'm not a huge fan of blogs, this isn't the way to fix the problem. This borders on dictatorship and I'm certain would piss off a load of users for all the wrong reasons. Secondly, if this did pass, how on earth would it be enforced? You can't ban or block users for not contributing to the mainspace. Chief z 02:31, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose — Nah,cant force editing. Rampantlion513 Wanna Talk?? Edits
Oppose — Oh, god, Gage, what were you thinking. You can't just force this crap on people. @TheManOfIron: 'Been thinking the same thing since I saw all these "Censor people like dicks Restrict blogging" topics popped up. What is this, an autocracy? -- Ari "Akyoyo" MacIsaac · Talk 04:08, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
Comment — Honestly, I'm not all for the idea myself. I just thought of the idea when my Internet went down last night. Trust me, I'm not a supporter for The Call of Duty Wiki, Dictator Version. I just thought of it as a wasy to slow down the blgging and increase edits. Plz don't flame me, flame the idea. Maj.Gage Talk. 04:14, July 22, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose — per Ukimies, that would not work at all, besides, who is gonna monitor who edits what? Talk 10:22, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
Oppose — No one is forced to edit the mainspace nor comment or create blogs. It really is meant to stay that way, and besides, the point is well made that a policy such as this truly is impossible to enforce. Bovell Talk | Contrib. 11:06, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
Comment — @TMOI, what a rude thing to say to Gage. And by all means, don't comment on stupid things. DevilWarrior112 12:16, July 22, 2010 (UTC)
- I don't see how that is being rude. All he did was propose that this forum be closed. <choose><option>

Oppose — I'm actually shocked at this proposal, considering the trend in the War on Blogs is to not ban or restrict them for the most part. As others have said above, you cannot force anyone to edit, and there is absolutely no sense in requiring users to edit mainspace. Look at the situation now: there's barely any mainspace content to edit other than routine maintenance and vandalism patrol. There's barely enough mainspace content for two bloggers to edit through, let alone the entire blogging sector of the wiki. This is a ridiculous and senseless idea that has no rationale, justification or reason that again overrates the value of mainspace edits. --Scottie theNerd 05:07, July 24, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose — 1) Blogs are part of Wikia. 2) Users will spam in mainspace to get edits for blogging or edit boost. 3) Edit mainspace or not - it's user's opinion. >SiPlus -talk -contributions_ 10:48, July 27, 2010 (UTC)
