:From what I proposed here is something without the need of groups, just leaders. The Leaders will invite those players who have sent them a message on the day of the playdate. So those who sent a message and are present will play. {{Signatures/SXe Fiend}}13:59, July 5, 2012 (UTC)
Hey everyone. I had an idea that will possibly supplement the CoD Wiki Events. I believe that the CoD Wiki Events take a while to set, for the sheer amount of people who want to join and the late people who sign up. What I am here to propose is a type of Community Playdate. These "playdates" will occur more frequently than the Events, and unlike the events we will be able to play other games such as Battlefield 3, GTA IV, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, etc.
When
I was thinking that these playdates should be twice a month (hopefully, if it works). The playdates should be on Wednesdays or Thursdays. The time they will start will probably be the same start time as the events, so for me it will be 11 AM PST or 1800 UTC.
How games will be chosen
Simple answer, by a vote.
Various games will be provided and the users will vote for the one they will want to play. This vote will begin two weeks before the playdate and voting will last a week. The game with the highest votes wins.
Now, there is a problem here. The problem is that there are games that are available for one console. The games that will be voted on will try not to be console specific, but if this happens, then at least two votes shall take place, one for PS3, one for Xbox 360, and if needed, one for PC.
How users will join
This part is tough. The method I suggest is how Achievement Hunter does their playdates. Once the game is chosen, a blog is made to state what game is going to be played, then users leave their gamertag, or PSN ID in the comments. Then on the playdate they will send messages to the person in charge (for us it will multiple people) and they will wait until they are invited to play. The users who want to play may not be immediately invited to play, but the playdates should last as long enough so that everyone who wants to play will play.
Leaders
I will do my best to be apart of every playdate, but there may be times where I cannot be a leader. But other leaders will be needed, for I do not have a PS3 and I do not play games on my PC. I was thinking that those people who want to be a leader, we will let them, and if there is not enough leaders then users will be asked to fill in those positions.
These leaders will be responsible to invite the users who sent the him/her a message to play. Depending on the game, they will wait for a certain amount of time for the user to join and if they do not join then the leader will invite the next user on their list.
The leader will also determine how long they will play with each set of users, of course depending on the game.
Well this seems like that is it for now. If anything comes up in the discussion regarding these ideas, they will be changes.

Too soon, this is like the third thing after the tournament. Qw3rty! (talk) 01:43, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
It's an idea, it hasn't been planned. DarkMetroid567okay 01:47, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
True, but time will have passed in order to refine this idea, and more time to set up the first playdate. It does not have to be right away. It will be scheduled so that the Community events would not be so cluttered. SXe Fiend·talk01:50, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
I meant this is the third thing people have been trying to do, RIGHT after the tournament failed. Qw3rty! (talk) 01:54, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
Why do we have to wait a while after the tournament has failed? If it didn't work, then people are still itching to play together. Joe Copp 02:45, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
Months of planning went into the tournament, then when it failed everyone just seems to be thinking "let's try again". To be honest in every community event we've had, groups have needed to merge because of no-shows, the tournament was cancelled because of no-shows, at the end of the day it's obvious if we want to play together we should just go into IRC or S:C and ask, because organised events are not working.
If it works, I could organize some Wii games on GoldenEye 007, The Conduit, and MW3. This is actually not a bad idea. MetlTalk 18:25, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
If I'm not mistaken, we still have the CoD4 event to do. Conqueror of all Zombies (talk) 03:58, July 3, 2012 (UTC)
