Frag x3

This perk is a commonly used first-tier perk. Experienced players look down upon those who use Frag x3 due to the possibility of players randomly throwing (known as grenade mortaring or 'nade spamming') the extra grenades to get kills. However, some players use this perk in creative and strategic ways.
In Call of Duty: World At War this perk is replaced by Primary Grenades x2 which, as the name implies, gives less grenades probably to decrease grenade spamming.
A similar perk Special Grenades x3 gives you three of whatever special grenade you have chosen except for Smoke Grenades.

- This perk is useful for players who prefer to clear out enemy positions inside buildings in Urban maps such as Backlot, Ambush, Strike, and Crossfire.
- This perk is particularly useful on the map Shipment, where players may toss their grenades to each corner of the map.
- Frag grenades are a good way to clear a location of claymores and C4.
- The perk is generally only used by "assault" classes.
- When combined with the second tier perk Sonic Boom, the frag grenades' killzone radius will increase significantly making this a deadly combination in the right hands.
