Private Franklin was a paratrooper of the American 82nd Airborne Division that landed as part of Operation Overlord, seen in Call of Duty.
Biography
After dropping into Normandy in the early morning of June 6, Franklin was picked up by Cpt. Foley's unit and helped take and defend the town of Ste. Mere-Eglise, which was an objective of the 101st Airborne. In Ste. Mere-Eglise-Day, Foley ordered Franklin and Pvt. Lewis to defend the Ste. Mere-Eglise church from German Fallschirmjager's and Wehrmacht troops.
Franklin manned a captured MG42 mounted through an opening in the wall of the church and fought against a few squads of advancing Germans. It is possible for him to die when the player is defending the church from the Germans. In this case, Foley will only say "Lewis, hold the church", knowing that Franklin is already dead. It is also possible for him to die during the last part of the level, when the player is attacking the mortars.
