Free-for-All

From the Call of Duty Wiki

Free-For-All (FFA) is a game mode for 8 players where it is every player for himself. While a few years back it might have been the most popular match type and the standard, in this new age of gaming, FFA games are much less popular. In CoD4, the number of people playing it is usually under 1,000. Due to the smaller groups of people, the games usually take place on smaller maps. It takes place in the smaller or medium sized maps. Games are usually very easy, or very hard, depending on the skill of the players.

[edit] Rules/Score Limits

World at War:

  • Maximum players is 8.
  • Score to win is 125 points (equivalent to 25 kills)
  • Points are scored through killing enemy players.
  • Points per kill is +5.
  • No assists.

Modern Warfare 2:

  • Maximum players is 8. (However, a glitch during 12-14-09 allowed for 18 player FFA)  (Also however, the private match xp glitch allows a 18 match free for all normally on rust.
  • Score to win is 1500 points (equivalent to 30 kills)
  • Points are scored through killing enemy players.
  • Each kill gives you 50 points
  • No assists.

[edit] In Call of Duty: World at War

The rules are similar except the win condition is 150 points, which is 30 kills not including dog kills. However, since players can earn 2 points for each enemy dog they kill, it is possible to win with fewer than 30 kills.

[edit] Hardcore Free-for-all

New in World at War is a hardcore version of Free-for-All. Same rules apply except players have 30% of normal health. Upon death, respawn time is fixed at 8 seconds (unlike 15 second waves in Hardcore Team Deathmatch). However, due to the cheapness of it being hardcore mode, as well as widespread camping and simply the fact that it is every man for himself with basically one hit kills makes the playlist considerably less popular than its regular counterpart.
