Golden Camouflage

From the Call of Duty Wiki

"Bling"
— Description from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

A golden Desert Eagle.

There are six golden weapons in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare based on Saddam Hussein's real gold-plated guns. They are acquired by completing all the challenges for their weapon class, except for the golden Desert Eagle Mark XIX, which is achieved when level 55 is reached. Golden weapons have no benefit and are activated like the other camouflages. They are lost when Prestige Mode is activated. Many players choose to obtain these golden weapons by playing a Cage Match with a friend and repeatably headshotting them.

[edit] Trivia

The golden Dragunov SVD in real life.
  • All of the weapons that can have a gold finish in this game are weapons used mainly by the Ultranationalists in the Single Player campaign. They could be based on real gold-plated guns that once used to belong to Saddam Hussein. During the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the US forces discovered a golden AK-47 and Dragunov in one of his palaces.
  • The finger print on the back of the Mini Uzi becomes much more visible when it has the gold camouflage.
  • Not only is the thumbprint easier to see, but the gold uzi dosen't have a stock bar on the back.
  • It has been said that the golden weapons are the best in its class as chosen by Infinity Ward. This is supported by the fact that certain golden guns are the last ones to be unlocked for its class in Modern Warfare 2.
