There are six golden weapons in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare based on Saddam Hussein's real gold-plated guns. They are acquired by completing all the challenges for their weapon class, except for the golden Desert Eagle Mark XIX, which is achieved when level 55 is reached. Golden weapons have no benefit and are activated like the other camouflages. They are lost when Prestige Mode is activated. Many players choose to obtain these golden weapons by playing a Cage Match with a friend and repeatably headshotting them.

  • Desert Eagle Mark XIX (Reaching Level 55)
  • M1014 (Completion of all shotgun challenges)
  • Dragunov (Completion of all sniper rifle challenges)

  • All of the weapons that can have a gold finish in this game are weapons used mainly by the Ultranationalists in the Single Player campaign. They could be based on real gold-plated guns that once used to belong to Saddam Hussein. During the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the US forces discovered a golden AK-47 and Dragunov in one of his palaces.
  • Despite what the above pictures show, all golden guns have the same tone, which is very bright and almost 'glowing'. The above pictures show the golden camouflage looking different due to the lighting.
  • When compared it would seem the AK-47, M60E4, and the Mini Uzi have the purest golden look while the M1014 has a more yellowish tone. This is because of the lighting in the surrounding area as well as the video settings.
  • A finger print on the back of the Mini Uzi becomes very visible when it has the gold camouflage.
  • The golden M1014 could be considered the hardest to get, considering the difficulty of getting a headshot with a shotgun.
  • In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it is possible that gold will be a gun camo.
