Harbor is a Call of Duty, Call of Duty: United Offensive and Call of Duty 2 multiplayer map.
[edit] Gameplay
Russians spawn in a courtyard near a parked German Opel Blitz Truck, Germans in an alleyway by a tented area and large courtyard. There are two enter-able buildings parallel to one and other and a pathway with cover overhead. Nevertheless, artillery is effective even if your in this cover. Most of the fighting in this map would be close quarters as teams fight over superiority in the buildings and gain a stronghold. In the courtyards, it will be close to medium range combat as there are open areas but a lot of crates that block from long range sniping.
[edit] Strategy
Definitely use Submachine Guns or Automatic Rifles in this map. The close quarters combat needs an automatic weapon, and even in the longer range combat a Submachine Gun would still be effective. You can use semi-automatics to great affect and bolt action rifles if you can stay concealed. Bolt actions can have issues against automatic weapons in those close quarters. You can hide on a ledge that lines the building against the docks with automatic weapons or snipe from this position. The crates provide excellent cover for ambushes and withdrawals to the buildings. The alleyways are a choke point, easily being blocked by players with automatic weapons and grenades. In the Call of Duty 2 version, there are other buildings you can enter.
[edit] Trivia
- Harbor is renamed to Rostov, Russia in Call of Duty 2. This is odd because the map was based off of a mission in Warsaw, Poland.
- The Call of Duty 2 version gives it enhanced graphics and snow fall effects
- Harbor and Pavlov's House are the fan favorites for bolt action matches.
