Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Edit
Hardcore Ricochet: HQ Pro is the Hardcore variant of Headquarters Pro. Therefore, it features a lack of HUD, as well as 30 health. Newly introduced is the Ricochet feature, where friendly fire is directed back to the shooter; albeit withstanding more damage.
Scoring
Edit
The game is won when one team reaches 200 points (400 in Modern Warfare 3), unless the time limit is reached where the team with more points will win. This is common on small maps like Rust or Scrapyard where capturing the HQ can be difficult. A draw can also occur this way.
5 Points are given to the team that capture the HQ, and every 5 seconds thereafter another 5 is given, until the HQ is captured, or when it goes offline at 60 seconds. Players earn 10 XP each 5 seconds while their team holds the HQ, 50 XP for each kill, 150 XP for capturing/destroying the HQ (only awarded to the first player to begin the capturing or destroying) and 100 XP for a kill in the HQ area.
Tips
Edit
Weapon-wise, guns with a minimum damage of 30 (the amount of health players have) are highly advised, as using less powerful weapons will leave the player at a large disadvantage to those who aren't. Low-mobility weapons aren't advised either, as getting to cover while being shot at can be difficult if moving slowly. Additionally, as most primary weapons can be used easily in Close Quarters, a Launcher as a secondary can help with stopping enemies capture/destroy the HQ. Shotguns are generally inadvisable as many secondaries can kill enemies at range easily as well as at close range.
UAVs are highly useful as killstreaks; even with the more common use of Cold-Blooded, a UAV can help a team be less disorientated as the lack of permanent HUD radar hinders knowledge of where friendlies are located. It also gives an idea as to where the enemy team spawn after losing their HQ. Manned killstreaks such as the Predator Missile and AC-130 especially, aren't as useful as Pavelows or Sentry Gun, as explosive killstreaks that aren't usually going to kill enemies can often result in friendly fire and therefore losing a killstreak.
Stopping Power is generally useless, unless solely using the USP .45 or M9 as these become one-hit-kills at all ranges with the perk active, however these weapons aren't advised as they have low penetration and bad accuracy at range. Cold-Blooded is very common as killstreaks can kill much quicker than in regular non-hardcore game modes. Hardline is useful for deploying UAVs or Counter-UAVs constantly. Ninja is recommended: because of the lower health, players use Heartbeat Sensors as well as other attachments like suppressors and because they do not need additional ammo. Sleight of Hand is extremely useful, especially when equipped alongside Lightweight Pro - faster ADS makes killing in close quarters much easier.
Trivia
Edit
- The playlist originally didn't involve the U.S. Army Rangers maps, which are Skidrow, Highrise, Terminal and Invasion, but these maps were added on the March 30, 2010 patch for Xbox 360, and on PS3 and PC were added with the Stimulus Package on May 4/5.
- This is the only Hardcore mode which is available from the start.
- This is the only mode in the Hardcore Mosh Pit playlist in Modern Warfare 2 that has ricochet rules enabled.
