The Hostage is a minor character in Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS).
The hostage found himself held captive by a Cuban soldier at the top of a bell tower in the mission "The Recovery Job". Fortunately, his captor was killed by Thomas Hayes. He repays their favor by telling them that the two Americans were transported somewhere else. When the Cuban military starts bombarding the church with artillery, he advises the CIA team to take cover in the catacombs. He isn't seen or mentioned again after the encounter with the operatives.
- If the player waits too long to kill the Cuban Soldier who has him hostage, the Cuban soldier will slice the hostage's throat and the player will fail the mission.
- After the player has saved the hostage and went down the ladder and encountered other enemies, if the player goes back up the ladder, he will see that the hostage will be standing up, in a stance as if he was holding a weapon, when he doesn't actually have one.
