Hunters are a type of Cryptid that appears in the Call of Duty: Ghosts mode Extinction. It also makes a brief appearance in the Zombies mode of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Appearance

Similar to Scouts in appearance, Hunters are average in physical size with silver tinted skin and a red aura. Like Rhinos, their heads are lined with armor plating that is significantly stronger than Scouts. Hunters will charge players on two legs, a trait not shared with any other Cryptid lifeform excluding the Leper and the Phantom, making them easy to distinguish in combat.

Overview

After spawning, Hunters will sprint towards the Drill much faster than any other Cryptid, capable of reducing a quarter of its health in a matter of seconds. Hunters also possess the ability to destroy a player's Sentry Gun much faster than Scouts. Killing a Hunter requires several rounds of ammo due to their protective armor and increased health, however equipping Armor Piercing Ammo makes disposing of them significantly easier. Hunters will constantly hound the player with melee attacks until it is killed off, making it extremely dangerous when there is more than one surrounding a player. When killed, the base money reward is $200, varying depending on the method of attack and the range from which it was killed.

In Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, a Hunter appears on the "Cryptid Attack" arcade game found within the Astrocade and Afterlife Arcade in Zombies in Spaceland, where the player must throw a total of six balls at the six teeth of a Hunter.
