Private Ilin (Ильин) was a Red Army solider who fought in the Battle of Stalingrad in World War II. He is seen in Call of Duty: Finest Hour.

October 3, 1942 Edit

Ilin and the squad he was assigned to encountered a Mark IV Panzer amidst the streets of the largely devastated city. He and the squad, having been cut off and surrounded, attempted to charge the tank and its escort forces, only to die en masse in the attack. Coincidentally, Lieutenant Tanya Pavelovna and her party were passing through in the midst of this massacre and judged that the presence of the Panzer would prevent them from traveling above ground.

Biography Edit

Ilin is one of several helpless soldiers the player sees after he/she follows Private Kirelenko out of the building in "Dead In Her Sights". He always dies in the mission, no matter how long it takes. Ilin is one of several soldiers who the player cannot save or entice to follow them, no matter how long he survives.

Out of the group of soldiers actually rushing the tank, Ilin and Pavlichenko are the only two soldiers identifiable by name. Ilin does one of two things; either he tries to retreat after advancing, or he tries to advance all the way. It's usually the opposite of what Pavlichenko does, and it always ends in his death.
