The Imperial Japanese Navy (Kyûzitai: 大日本帝國海軍, Sinzitai: 大日本帝国海軍) or IJN, officially the Navy of the Greater Japanese Empire, was the naval force of Japan from 1869 to 1947. In the Call of Duty series, it is an enemy faction, fought in Call of Duty: World at War and Call of Duty: Vanguard in the Pacific War. Though is is much less frequent than its counterpart, the Imperial Japanese Army in World at War. It is not a playable multiplayer faction.

The most prominent level in World at War, where the IJN appear is "Black Cats", where the player (as Petty Officer Locke) must destroy three merchant vessels bearing the flag of the Imperial Navy and fight A6M Zero of the fleet air arm.

In Vanguard they appear in the level "The Battle of Midway".

Officers and soldiers of the IJN can be encountered in certain levels. Officers can be easily identified by the white tropical uniform they wear.

The Imperial Japanese Navy also makes an appearance in the intro cutscene for the Call of Duty: Black Ops III zombies map Zetsubou No Shima.
