Sergeant John^[1] Davis is the main playable character in the British campaign in Call of Duty 2 and Call of Duty (he's an engineer and he fixed a Flack 88 to destroy the tanks).

He served with the 7th Armoured Division in North Africa, seeing action in El Alamein, Tunisia, and even as far as El Daba, Egypt. He then fought in the Liberation of Caen. He served alongside Captain Price and Pvt. MacGregor. Following Capt. Price's every order, Sgt. Davis obeyed those orders as well as the 7th Armoured did.

• In the mission Prisoners of War, after you find the wounded Americans, Captain Price will order you and MacGregor to bring back the truck to transport them. When he does this, he addresses Sergeant Davis as Corporal Davis. This is the only occasion in which he does this. It is possible that Davis was originally going to be a Corporal, but was lifted a rank for an unknown reason.

• He seems to be second in command of his squad. But in El Daba he is third in command because of Cpt. Burwell.
