The Katyusha Rocket Launcher is a Soviet self-propelled artillery piece that fires high-explosive rockets. The Katyusha saw widespread use and manufacturing by the Soviet Union during World War II.
Call of Duty: Finest Hour

Katyusha Rocket Launchers can be seen in mission "Breakdown", just outside of the window in front of General Belov. The player's objective is to get the replacement radio to the forward observer in the train station, so he can give firing coordinates for the Katyusha Rockets team onto the German armoured column. Later, in "Operation Little Saturn", a group of Katyusha Rocket Launcher Team led by Raven support Nikolai's Armoured Tank Squad to breaches the German Airfield front gate.
Call of Duty: World at War Edit
Katyusha rocket launchers play a more prominent role in Call of Duty: World at War. Katyusha rocket launchers are used on the level "Ring of Steel" to soften up German positions on the outskirts of Berlin, and "Heart of the Reich." Katyusha rockets themselves can be seen in the level "Eviction", hitting buildings near the players position and forcing the squad inside. In end of the level "Downfall," the player can only see the rockets flying into the top of the Reichstag.
Trivia Edit
- In Call of Duty: Finest Hour, in the mission "Operation Little Saturn", when the Raven Katyusha team launches rockets, some of them will explode for no reason. Also, some of the rockets will not explode after hitting the ground. After a few seconds, these rockets will disappear.
- Also in Call of Duty: Finest Hour, the Katyusha launcher have no crew. When rockets are loaded into it, they just spawn behind them.
- Katyusha rockets were going to be the Red Army's Fourth Killstreak in the Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer mode, but was removed by Treyarch and can still be found in the game files.
