The Kingdom of Italy (Italian: Regno d'Italia) was a state formed after the unification of Italy in 1861. It was a member of the Axis Powers during World War II until it joined the Allied Powers in 1943. The Kingdom of Italy existed until 1946 when it opted to become a constitutional republic.
