M.P

The M.P.D. as it appears in-game.

The M.P.D. is a pyramid-shaped Vril machine, with a circular indented interface at the front that, when the Vril Generator is applied, grants the power to control the Aether's energy. When powered by souIs, it is able to open a direct portal to the Aether, which drove Richtofen insane and gave him Schizophrenia. It uses souls as a power source, as discovered by Schuster after killing a rat near it. Samantha Maxis was originally suspended within it by accident and used it to send the zombies after Group 935 members to fulfill the vengeance sought after by her father, Dr. Maxis. Following the events of Moon, Richtofen switched bodies with Samantha using the Vril Generator and powering the device, thus allowing him to enter the Aether and grant him the power to control the zombies after Richtofen's Grand Scheme, continuing into Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Depending on the player's choices, as of the end of the Mined Games easter egg, Dr. Maxis can be the one in control of the zombies instead of Richtofen, or Richtofen can still be in control. In Call of Duty: Black Ops III, the M.P.D. itself is teleported to Der Eisendrache by a Keeper during the main easter egg My Brother's Keeper, taking the place of the pyramid in the underground chamber. However, it will disappear after the easter egg is completed.
