The M1891/59 is a bolt-action rifle that appears solely in Call of Duty: Black Ops (Nintendo DS).

Campaign[]

The M1891/59 has a five-round magazine and fires in bolt-action mode. On all difficulties, a shot anywhere, including limbs, will be a one-shot kill. The M1891/59 can also have an attachable scope, making it a bolt action sniper rifle with high power and recoil. This rifle is used by enemies in early levels so it is advisable to pick up as there will be plenty of ammunition and a one hit kill ability, but beware, the one hit kill ability also applies to the player on Hardened, and sometimes even on Recruit or Regular difficulty. It also appears on the final mission

Multiplayer[]

In Multiplayer, it still retains its place as the most powerful non-sniper rifle weapon. It is arguably one of the more versatile weapons, having high hip-fire accuracy, so it can perform well in CQB. When fitted with a Scope, it is arguably more useful than the regular sniper rifle because of the greater starting ammunition, higher ROF, and superior hip-fire accuracy.

Zombies[]

In Zombies, the M1891/59 can be purchased for 300 points in the first room on all maps, essentially taking a sinilar role to the Kar98K from previous zombies maps. However, like the Kar98k, it will only be effective in the first two or three rounds at most, due to the slow rate of fire and its small magazine of just 5 rounds. It can also be found in the Mystery Box, coming both with and without a scope but the scoped version is much rarer than the non-scoped variant.

Trivia[]

  • When aiming down the sights of the rifle, the bolt action does not cycle. However, the fire rate does not change.
  • When equipped with a scope, the player will insert the clip into the magazine right through the scope.
  • If the player equips two M1891/59's, and fires the first one, switches to the second one, and fires the second one, the effective rate of fire of both is doubled. It is hard to aim and it wastes ammo doing this, but in close quarters it can make short work of an enemy.
