The MP-443 Grach is a handgun featured in Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Call of Duty: Ghosts[]

"Semi-automatic. Low recoil and highest fire rate in its class."
— Description

Campaign[]

The MP-443 Grach is used by Keegan (with Akimbo) in "Struck Down" and by Rorke in "Sin City". It is also used by Federation soldiers in "Severed Ties" and "The Ghost Killer", where they can draw it from their holsters after running out of ammunition (except for those who were using the PDW as their main weapon, in which case it will remain their only firearm). The MP-443 can be obtained sometimes with Akimbo.

Multiplayer[]

The Grach appears in Multiplayer, and it costs 4 squad points, making it a very inexpensive weapon.

The MP-443 Grach is a moderate damage pistol with very short range. At any range short of 2.5 meters, the MP-443 Grach will deal 52 damage per bullet, needing two shots to kill. Damage decreases linearly until 17.5 meters. At any range past 17.5 meters, the MP-443 Grach will deal twenty damage per bullet, needing five shots to kill. The MP-443 Grach has a two shot kill range of 3.4 meters, a three shot kill range of 10.9 meters, and a four shot kill range of 15.2 meters. The MP-443 Grach deals forty percent extra damage on a headshot, which can help the MP-443 Grach in a variety of situations. While the MP-443 Grach's damage per bullet seems decent for a handgun, it fails in practice, since the range is so pitifully short that a three shot kill isn't even a guarantee at close ranges. The lacking range means there will be many an instance when using the MP-443 Grach where the user is simply overmatched by sheer additional firepower. The MP-443 Grach has low penetration power, making it a poor choice for firing through surfaces.

The MP-443 Grach's biggest advantage is its firecap. It has the highest firecap of any semi-automatic handgun, firing at a potential 800 RPM. Those with good trigger fingers can make up for the MP-443 Grach's lacking damage through sheer volume of fire, but its firecap advantage is not that pronounced over the much more powerful P226, only having 95 RPM of extra firecap. The MP-443 Grach, even at its best, also fires slower than the Gold PDW.

The MP-443 Grach has favorable accuracy mechanics. The iron sights are clear as can be, and the recoil per shot is mild. The MP-443 Grach has recoil values of 35 to the left and 35 to the right. The MP-443 Grach has no downwards recoil value, and instead kicks up with varying intensity on every shot. The MP-443 Grach kicks up with a value of either 20 or 35. The MP-443 Grach overall has the smallest recoil per shot in its class, and it is especially notable with the MP-443 Grach's vertical recoil values. The MP-443 Grach's centerspeed is poor, at just 750, but the MP-443 Grach's very small recoil per shot will make it controllable regardless of how fast the user fires the weapon.

The MP-443 Grach has good handling traits all around. The MP-443 Grach allows users to move at 100% of the base movement speed, or strafe at 80% of the base movement speed. The MP-443 Grach allows the user to aim down the sights in 200 milliseconds, and the MP-443 Grach has decent hip-fire accuracy. The MP-443 Grach also boasts the fastest reloads in its class. The MP-443 Grach's reload animation is 1.8 seconds long, or 2.1 seconds long on an empty magazine. In either case, the user can Reload Cancel in just 0.9 seconds. The MP-443 Grach when reload cancelled properly has some of the fastest reload speeds in the game, and reloading is painless. The MP-443 Grach overall has decent handling compared to the other handguns, but the handguns in Ghosts as a whole don't handle quite as well as in games past.

The MP-443 Grach has a major magazine capacity weakness. It has the second smallest magazines of any of the handguns, holding just ten rounds. This is a major limitation of the MP-443 Grach, as it will highly restrict sustained combat capability. Worse, since the MP-443 Grach has poor damage and is reliant on more shots in order to kill targets, it makes the margin for error razor thin. The MP-443 Grach gives users a starting ammo loadout of 40 rounds total.

The MP-443 Grach has the standard assortment of handgun attachments available. The Flash Suppressor reduces muzzle flash. This attachment is mostly inconsequential, as not only is muzzle flash a minor inconvenience at worst, but the visual recoil of the MP-443 Grach's slide while firing makes muzzle flash entirely irrelevant. The Silencer reduces muzzle flash, makes the MP-443 Grach quieter when firing, and prevents the MP-443 Grach from revealing the user on radar when firing the gun, at the expense of the range benchmarks being made 25% shorter. The MP-443 Grach's range is pitiful to begin with, so not much is lost by using the Silencer. Conversely, the Muzzle Brake will boost the MP-443 Grach's range benchmarks by 20%. Considering how starved for range the MP-443 Grach is, the Muzzle Brake isn't a bad attachment, but the effect will not be very large like with other handguns.

The Tactical Knife improves the recovery speed from the user's Melee attack. This can be especially important in Ghosts, as the Tactical Knife will also prevent the user from ever doing the very lengthy animations that force the player to stand still. Not only will it improve the user's margin for error by allowing the user to recover more quickly from a miss, but it will also protect the user from becoming a stationary target after a successful melee hit, as well as allowing for more proficient chain kills. The Tactical Knife provides many advantages to those who are willing to use their melee attack while having a handgun equipped. Akimbo allows the user to fire two MP-443 Grachs at once, at the expense of the ability to aim. Compared to past titles, Akimbo is mostly free of penalty besides the obvious inability to aim, and to sweeten the deal, the user's switch speeds are oddly improved when used in Akimbo. The MP-443 Grach is not the best choice for Akimbo however, as its firecap advantage is mostly put to waste as players often struggle to fire at the maximum possible speed across both guns.

Extended Mags is easily the best attachment choice for the MP-443 Grach, boosting the MP-443 Grach's magazine capacity to fifteen rounds and boosting the starting ammo loadout to 60 rounds. This highly increases the user's margin for error, which is severely lacking in the base version of the MP-443 Grach, while also extending the potential sustained combat capability. Armor-Piercing allows the MP-443 Grach to mostly ignore the effects of enemy Ballistic Vests and Juggernaut armor, but Extended Mags is too good to pass up on.

Overall, the MP-443 Grach is not a good secondary weapon. Its advantages are too niche to make up for the MP-443 Grach's severe shortcomings in both range and magazine capacity. The M9A1 proves to be more reliable on account of its superior range, superior magazine capacity, and the fact that the M9A1 never needs more than four shots to kill, while the P226's range and magazine capacity advantages are so prominent that they make up for the P226's numerous slight disadvantages of reload speed, recoil, and needing an extra shot to kill beyond 24 meters. The MP-443 Grach is very rarely seen in Multiplayer as a result of the P226's sheer prominence and for good reason. Most of the time, the MP-443 Grach will only be seen in the hands of new players or in the hands of the Support Squadmate, who does use an MP-443 Grach by default if they do not receive a weapon from an Ammo Crate.

Safeguard[]

The MP-443 Grach makes an appearance in Safeguard mode as the starting weapon. It automatically comes equipped with Extended Mags. Its reserve ammo regenerates over time (one bullet every 1.5 seconds), making it a good weapon to keep in case the player runs out of ammo with another gun.

Extinction[]

"Fully automatic close range pistol."
— In-game description

The MP-443 Grach appears in Extinction. This time it is fully automatic unlike its campaign and multiplayer counterparts, and has a 15 round magazine by default. Compared to the other handguns, the MP-443 Grach is the weakest per shot and has the second lowest range, having double the maximum damage range of the .44 Magnum. Despite the MP-443 Grach's poor damage statistics, it is still a very effective handgun, boasting the fastest fire rate in its class, giving it an incredibly good damage output. The MP-443 Grach, despite being fully automatic, is also the most accurate handgun, allowing users to fire faster at longer ranges and not have to worry much about recoil. The MP-443 Grach is among the best handguns to upgrade to its Akimbo version, as it makes the MP-443 Grach have among the best CQC damage outputs in the game, making it a worthy alternative for players who have weapons that can handle medium to long range combat well.

Because of its well-sized magazines, ease of use, good damage output, and good accuracy, the MP-443 Grach is - by a landslide - the most popular handgun to use in Extinction, despite being the last of the handguns to be unlocked. The MP-443 Grach's damage woes don't affect the weapon too harshly, as Extinction is a game mode which provides a plethora of ways to boost damage output in some way, and the MP-443 Grach packs plenty of advantages in other facets.

The MP-443 Grach is one of the handguns which has its iron sights visually blocked when the ARK attachment is equipped onto the MP-443 Grach. Despite this visual blockage, the ARK is still well worth using on the MP-443 Grach anyway, and the visual blockage becomes no longer relevant when the MP-443 Grach is upgraded to its Akimbo version.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare[]

"Two round burst. Best in class range."
— In-game description.

The MP443 Grach (referred to as PBW in the game files) returns in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, this time with a 2-round burst firing mode.

Campaign[]

The MP443 Grach appears in the campaign, notably in the starting loadout for the mission "Sentinel", where it is semi-auto instead of burst-fire. It can also be found in "Collapse" and "Armada", where it fires in two-round bursts like in multiplayer. Irons uses a unique MP443 Grach with an attachment rail with no attachments on it, as well as it being semi-auto to execute the Nigerian technologist as seen in Utopia.

Multiplayer[]

The MP-443 Grach is a strong sidearm to have, being a two-shot kill at close range (out of six meters). This means that as long as the 2-round burst hits the opponent, it will be enough to secure the kill. As such, it is a very strong sidearm to have, and is very versatile, being able to be used as a backup to a CQC or non-CQC weapon. When used with a close-quarters weapon, it can be pulled out upon running out of ammo as a backup weapon. On the other hand, when being used with a long-range weapon, like an LMG or sniper rifle, it can be drawn and used as a standalone weapon when moving to a new location. The damage between six and 23 meters is 25 and beyond 25 meters is 20, a four-hit kill and five-hit kill, respectively.

Akimbo is a very strong attachment, as the player can kill in one burst if all shots hit. It also makes the time-to-kill decrease at close range, which is what this gun was built for. Extended Mags is useful when paired with Akimbo. Optical attachments aren't necessary, as the sights are much less obstructive than other pistols, like the PDW and Atlas 45. The Laser Sight can be extremely useful, so the player can begin firing before they are completely scoped in. However, the usefulness of the Tactical Knife is debatable. It doesn't bring much benefit to the Grach, as the player will almost always have ammunition to dispatch of additional enemies. It is more suited to the RW1, in which the player is constantly in danger of running out of ammo.

In conclusion, the MP443 Grach is a strong weapon that makes a reliable backup to any weapon, and that can even be used in a primary role.

The MP443 Grach has some powerful variants to use. The Dimension increases the four-hit kill range to 26.3 meters, but increases hip-fire spread by 10%. The Dimension is useful at medium range as it increases the range at which the MP443 Grach can kill with two bursts.

The Snappy gives the player an integrated Akimbo attachment, and increases the fire rate of each pistol to 923 RPM per burst. Considering how beneficial Akimbo and more fire rate are to the MP443 Grach, this is a very strong variant to use at close-to-medium range. The recoil per shot is increased by 10%, which is barely noticeable due to the Akimbo attachment.

The One Wood increases the two-hit kill range to 7.3 meters, and the four-hit kill range to 27.4 meters. This is a great bonus if the player uses the weapon at close and medium ranges as it allows the player to kill in one burst and two burst on more distance. However, the One Wood is a six-hit kill at long range, the weapon has 10% more recoil per shot and the hip-spread cone is 10% wider. These are mostly minor drawbacks as the extra recoil is not very noticeable, nor is the larger hip-spread. The damage loss, however, reduces the weapon's performance at longer ranges, although it is worth noting that the player can still kill at long range with three bursts, assuming all six bullets hit the target.

The Hasty increases the two-hit kill range to 7.3 meters, like the One Wood, and the four-hit kill range to 26.3 meters, increasing the weapon's performance at medium range. As well, it is a Marksman variant, meaning the player is guaranteed to obtain it by getting 300 kills with the gun. However, the hip-fire spread is 20% wider. The Laser Sight is an helpful attachment to counter the loss of hip-fire accuracy. The Hasty is a strong variant to use instead of the One Wood, as the advantages are very similar, and the Hasty has less noticeable drawbacks.

Exo Survival[]

The MP443 Grach also appears in Exo Survival mode. It costs 2 upgrade points to buy, and is unlocked at round 6, but comes with the Heavy Exo class by default.

It is a generally effective weapon, sporting a good amount of damage as well as high handling due to being a pistol and the highest range of the pistols, but players may find it more practical to use a submachine gun instead, which has relatively the same handling and mobility, in conjunction with increased damage.

Exo Zombies[]

Despite it not being obtainable in-game, Kahn can be seen holding it on the menu when selecting to go play online.
