For other uses, see Pack-a-Punch (disambiguation).
Here, there, seems like everywhere. Nasty things are happening, now everyone is scared. Old Jeb Brown the Blacksmith, he saw his mother die. A critter took a bite from her and now she's in the sky. The angels came down to Old Jeb and told him what to do. Build yourself a great machine, its punch will see it through. When you pack-a-punch, the whole damn bunch will not last very long. And while you put yourself to work, sing a country western song. "Now Jeb didn't know much about engineering so he just put his trust in the angels and set to work. After many days and many nights. A lot of blood, sweat and tears. And a little help from the angels of course. He was ready to show his machine to the whole damn town." Friends, neighbors, ladies, gentlemen. If you're feelin' underpowered, I'll help you make amends. Stick your weapon in the slot, and let it change your luck. Few things in life are guaranteed, but I promise this won't suck. Punch your fists into the air and raise a rebel yell! There's lots of bad'uns out there you need to send to hell! With Pack-a-Punch, I have a hunch, your problems will be gone, but if you end up on the ground, sing a country western song. Pack-a-Punch (Everybody)! Pack-a-Punch (Yee-haa)! Pack-a-Punch! Pack-a-Punch! Pack-a-Punch (Everybody)! Pack-a-Punch! Pack-a-Punch! (YEE-HAA!!!) Pack-a-Punch (WAA-HOOOO)! Punch your fists into the air and raise a rebel yell! There's lots of bad'uns out there you need to send to hell! With Pack-a-Punch, I have a hunch, your problems will be gone, but if you end up on the ground, sing a country western song. WAA-HOOOO!

"I once tried to climb inside the Pack-a-Punch, hoping that it could perhaps enhance me... I failed."
Edward Richtofen
"Newly unlocked, the machine sits ready to receive weapons. It seems to upgrade weapons with power and unique traits. Upgraded weapons can also have their ammo restocked here or at their corresponding Weapon Locker."
— Notebook Information

The Pack-a-Punch Machine is a utility found in every Zombies map after Shi No Numa (excluding Dead Ops Arcade, Bus Depot (Survival), Diner, and Farm). In the Aether Story it is powered by Element 115, while in the Chaos Story and Dark Aether Saga the means on which it functions is not entirely known.

A variant of Pack-a-Punch would be added to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Exo Zombies mode as the Upgrade Station. The Upgrade Station, once a weapon is upgraded, allows the player to always have that weapon upgraded even if buying it from a Wall Buy or 3D Printer.

A different variant of the machine appears in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, but instead of the traditional machine, it is instead a film projector. Another variant appears in the Call of Duty Online Cyborg Rising maps Mechanical Body Lab and Ghost Swamp.

In WWII, a variant of the machine called the Ubersprengen would be added functioning similarly as in previous editions however allowing the player to purchase ammo straight from the machine after Pack-a-Punching.

Overview[]

"The day is the 19th of April, the year of our Lord, 1885. Somehow, I don't know how it's possible. Last I recall I was headed into the mine, I swear I was only down there for a few hours. When I come back up, townsfolk say I've been missing for 5 days. Then there was last night, when I slept I had a vision. Two angels came down to me from Heaven. They told me I needed to be ready, to prepare for what was coming. What was coming, they would not tell me. But how to prepare, "build a machine" they said. "A machine that would grant you great power". This machine was complex requiring craftsmanship and mechanical skill I did not have. I told them such, but they said not to worry. They would guide my hands. The way they described it, sounded like an oven or a kiln. You stick your rifle inside, and when it come back out, (chuckles) let's just say that rifle will pack a serious punch."
Jebediah Brown, the creator of the Pack-a-Punch, describing its conception and purpose.

History[]

Aether Story[]

In the Aether Story, the Pack-a-Punch Machine was first created by Jebediah Brown - a blacksmith who lived in the Old American Western town known as Purgatory Point in the late 1800's. On July 18th, 1885, Brown was visited by two Keepers who he misidentified as Angels. During this visit, the "Angels" instructed Brown to build a machine that would grant him great power; guiding his hands as he did so. The purpose of this machine was both to upgrade one's weapon, as well as to upgrade the Vril Vessel, a metallic vessel that the Keepers also tasked Jebediah with building as part of the Agarthan Device. Under the Keepers demands, Brown used the Pack-a-Punch Machine to upgrade and charge the Vril Vessel; the sheer power of which transported Purgatory Point beneath Angola and causing an infestation of the undead.

Fragments and schematics of the original Pack-a-Punch Machine would be retrieved by Group 935 and brought to Doctor Edward Richtofen. He would then place Doctor H. Porter in charge of replicating the machine, beginning a program of mass reproduction that would see the machine be mass-produced by 935. After the end of World War II, the Pack-a-Punch would also be replicated by various other scientific organizations such as Ascension Group and Broken Arrow.

The Golden Pack-a-Punch would be utilized by Victis to upgrade and complete the Agarthan Device shortly before the Multiverse was plunged into the Dark Aether.

Chaos Story[]

The Pack-a-Punch is part of a Sentinel Trial; a tool that participants can use to aid them in their quest after activating a Sentinel Artifact.

Dark Aether Saga[]

The Pack-a-Punch Machine was one of the many objects in the Multiverse to be banished to the Dark Aether. It, along with the Mystery Box, would be discovered by entities within the Dark Aether; leading them to learn of the existence of another world besides theirs. The Pack-a-Punch would be described as similar to crucibles that already existed in the Dark Aether that filled the same niche of upgrading one's weapons.

At some point, one Pack-a-Punch Machine would be retrieved and repaired by an unknown individual, with this person dubbing it "The Forge". Another machine would also be encountered by Kazimir Zykov in his travels in the Dark Aether.

Nazi Zombies[]

The Ubersprengen was created by the Ahnenerbe following Doctor Peter Straub's discover of Geistkraft energy.

Gameplay effects[]

Main article: Upgraded weapons

The Pack-a-Punch Machine allows weapons to be upgraded to better versions of themselves. The machine typically changes the weapon's name, adds one or more attachments, increases the damage output, increases the magazine capacity and makes the firing sound higher pitched accompanied by a red/purple muzzle flash. The weapon also notably gains a bizarre camouflage to accent the changes done to it. The camouflage changes by game, and in Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Black Ops III, Infinite Warfare and Black Ops 4, by map as well. Infinite Warfare is unique in that it has two camos per map, with one for when the weapon is Pack a Punched and then the second for when it is upgraded further.

Call of Duty: World at War[]

In Call of Duty: World at War, Pack-a-Punching weapons will grant increased damage, larger magazines, added effects, and/or more reserve ammo. Some weapons may gain attachments, change fire mode and some may even fire different projectiles after Pack-a-Punching. Heavier weapons, such as light machine guns and launchers usually gain increased mobility resulting in the player being capable of higher speeds. Off-wall weapons can replenish ammo by buying ammo for it in the place they were bought for 4500 points.

Call of Duty: Black Ops[]

In Call of Duty: Black Ops, upgrading weapons costs 5000 points and functions similarly to how it did in Call of Duty: World at War.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]

In Call of Duty: Black Ops II, upgrading weapons costs 5000 points and functions similarly to how it did in World at War and Black Ops. However, most 2025 weapons (excluding Wonder Weapons) can be Pack-a-Punched a second time for 2000 points, giving them a random (realistically equippable) attachment. Pack-a-Punching a weapon again does not replenish its ammo capacity.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare[]

In Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, the Upgrade Station costs 2500 points and will upgrade a weapon by 1 level with the first upgrade changing the weapon to a Mk 2 version, and so on until Mk 20 (then, with the secret Upgrade Station, to Mk 25). Each upgrade will increase the weapon's damage, replenish ammo, and grant a random tigerstripe type camo. Unlike the Pack-a-Punch from other games, upgrades are permanent, meaning one can get rid of an upgraded gun and then buy it again off the wall or from the 3D Printer and keep their previously attained upgrade level. On upgrading to Mk 4, Mk 7, and Mk 10, each weapon will be granted a specific attachment. Mk 4 upgrade typically grants an optic attachment while the Mk 7 and Mk 10 upgrades will give other attachments like Laser Sight or Extended Mags.

Each map has a secret experimental Upgrade Station which can be unlocked by completing the Easter Egg and will allow players to upgrade any Mk 20 weapon one more time to Mk25 (for a grand total of 20 upgrades).[1] The final upgrade to Mk 25 grants a diamond camo.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III[]

In Call of Duty: Black Ops III, due to the Weapon Kits system, Pack-a-Punching a weapon does not add any new attachments, except FMJ (on classes with FMJ equipable), and Extended Mags (though some guns may only show it as a visual change and do not actually have increased magazine size). Attachments can thus be freely customized for each weapon, and those attachments persist through pack-a-punching a weapon. However, a new feature was added that allows all weapons to be Pack-a-Punched again for 2500 points, to add a module to their weapon. The five modules are Blast Furnace (makes a zombie burst into flames which can spread to multiple zombies eventually killing them), Fireworks (zombies hit with the fireworks bullet will explode into fireworks with a model of the weapon that shot it; the fireworks last for three seconds and kill any zombies in its area of effect), Turned (turns the zombie against the other zombies and will melee the closest ones to death with one swipe to kill each, until the turned one dies), Dead Wire (creates a mini Wunderwaffe effect and chains to up to ten zombies, gaining its chaining ability as rounds progress), and Thunder Wall (a Thunder Gun effect will propel zombies in close range of the zombie struck with the thunder wall bullet in the air).

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare[]

In Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the Pack-a-Punch Machine replacement is the very film projector that is showing the films. The Film Projector can also perform a second upgrade if it has been upgraded via the use of Alien Fuses. Every map has these hidden in some minor easter egg. Unlike how future games handle multiple upgrades, the second upgrade given by the Film Projector will give a new camouflague and new name, alongside the standard benefits of an upgrade, such as increased damage and magazine capacity.

Call of Duty: WWII[]

In Call of Duty: WWII, the Ubersprengen will increase damage and sometimes change a weapon's function. It can also resupply ammo to any non-wonder weapons, including weapons that aren't normally found from Weapon Lockers, such as Mystery Box weapons. This can be done for 4,000 Jolts once the weapon the player wishes to restock is upgraded.

Call of Duty: Mobile[]

In Call of Duty: Mobile, the Pack-a-Punch machine was added with Season 11: Final Snow to Undead Siege and players can upgrade their weapon for up to 5 times (10 in Endless). The first upgrade costs 2000 points and the cost increases by 2000 for every subsequent upgrade, in exchange for weapon buffs, such as reload time reduction, +50% damage, and bigger magazine capacity.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4[]

Within Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the Pack-a-Punch machine alongside the Pack-a-Punch Altar will allow most weapons to be Pack-a-Punched an additional four times for damage boosts for 2,500 points, this also re-rolls the Alternate Ammo Type. After the four additional damage boosts, the Pack-a-Punch cost will be lowered to 1,500 points but will only re-roll the Alternate Ammo Type.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War[]

In Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, the Pack-a-Punch machine, while not changed in output, has changed in operation, now utilising a menu design, removing the animation where the weapon is put in. It now allows players to Pack-a-Punch a weapon up to a total of three times (costing 5000, 15000 and 30000 Essence, respectively), alongside applying Ammo Mods in a separate menu for 2000 Essence.

Call of Duty: Vanguard[]

In Call of Duty: Vanguard, the Pack-a-Punch machine works in the same way as Black Ops Cold War. It allows players to Pack-a-Punch a weapon up to a total of three times. The only difference between Vanguard and Black Ops Cold War is that there is no possibility of installing Ammo Mods. In Der Anfang and Terra Maledicta, the cost of initially Pack-a-Punching is 7500 Essence, while in Shi No Numa it returns to being 5000 Essence. In all three maps it costs 15000 and 30000 Essence to double and triple Pack your weapon respectively.

Weapon Camo effects[]

Call of Duty: World at War[]

  • Der Riese: The weapon gains elaborate engraving with calligraphy patterns. The metal appears to be stainless steel and any wooden furniture remains the same. As Pack-a-Punch was introduced in Der Riese, it is the only map to include this camouflage.

Call of Duty: Black Ops[]

  • All Maps (Consoles and PC): The weapon gains a black finish with red circuitry patterns running across it. All furniture remain the same, as do any optical attachments.
  • Kino Der Toten (Wii): Due to the Wii's hardware limitations, the weapons instead become a sort of green with yellow engravings, much like a real circuit board.
  • Der Riese (Rezurrection DLC): The remaster of Der Riese keeps the circuit camo for Black Ops weapons, but World at War weapons gain an updated version of the old camo; stainless steel with engravings, with some weapons now having more engravings than previous. The Wunderwaffe DG-2 gains a unique golden camouflage. The MP-40 is the sole exception to this change, as it was already given Kino's camo before Rezurrection was even released.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]

  • Tranzit, Nuketown Zombies, Die Rise, Buried: In all of the Victis maps, the weapon is a mixture of dark blue, red and yellow, much like a molten meteorite. Furniture remains the same, although optical attachments are now also textured with the camouflage.
  • Mob of the Dead: The weapon gains a menacing black finish with lava-like cracks over it with alchemy symbols spread across it, making it demonic in nature to suit the map's theme. Furniture, attachments and other parts of the weapon becomes a shiny off-white, akin to a faded rose gold.
  • Origins: The weapon gains a very light, ice-like camouflage. Furniture is covered in a dieselpunk style of metal, along with various random bits of the weapon. This camouflage would later be added into multiplayer as the Weaponized 115 Camouflage, albeit with the light blue changed to bright green.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare[]

  • All maps: The Upgrade Station in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare functions somewhat differently and upgrades weapons up to Mk 20, then, with the map-specific special upgrade station, up to Mk 25. Each time a weapon is upgraded, it will be given a tiger stripe-like camo pattern. At Mk 25, the weapon will gain the Diamond Camouflage. These camouflages operate on a system where it changes every time the weapon is upgraded, and thus it has 20 different versions avalible to it. However, they're all some sort of tigerstripe-like pattern with random colours in between the black stripes.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III[]

  • Shadows of Evil: The weapon changes into a style similar to Mob of the Dead's, with a black finish and lava-like cracks, although noticeable differences are the amount of engravings and alchemy symbols in the camouflage which have increased and the lower amount of relief between the cracks and the metal parts. This camo would later be added to multiplayer as the Ritual Camouflage.
  • The Giant: The weapon changes to black with elaborate gold-green patterns, similar to Der Riese's, including new engravings like iron crosses and isotopes. This camo would later be added to multiplayer as the Etching Camouflage.
  • Der Eisendrache: The weapon gains a gemstone camouflage that can be in various colours, named after gemstones. These gems include Garnet, Sapphire, Topaz, Emerald and Amethyst; all of which are added as camos for multiplayer with the purchase of Zombie Chronicles.
  • Zetsubou No Shima: Weapons gain a bright yellow camo with moss and slime covering the weapon. Later added to multiplayer as the Overgrowth Camouflage.
  • Gorod Krovi: The weapon gains a scaly camouflage with randomly selected colours, much like the skin of the Dragons seen in the map. These colors include red, orange, blue, pink and green; three of which would later be added as the Dragon Fire, Arcane Fire and Atomic Fire Camouflages.
  • Revelations: The weapon gains an ethereal space-like camouflage, which can come in a few different colours. These variations include a design similar in look to a galaxy with various red and blue colours, a blue or green galaxy design with yellow streaks throughout, a blue galaxy design with electricity surging through it and a light and dark blue galaxy design with red streaks throughout.
  • Zombie Chronicles Maps: In the remastered World at War maps (which require Pack-a-Punching through Gobblegums as the maps lack Pack-a-Punch machines), the camo is the same as in The Giant. For the remastered Black Ops maps, the camo is a higher-resolution version of the circuit camo seen in that game, though the overall camo is much smaller in size and as such covers much more of the weapon. For Origins, it too uses an updated version of the map's camo. However, the Origins camo is noticeably less detailed than the previous version. It lacks much of the three-dimensional depth and dieselpunk elements the previous camo had. The Ice Camouflage from multiplayer seems to be based on this version of the Origins camo.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare[]

  • Zombies in Spaceland: Single Pack camo is a shiny purple with a design resembling the Alien MixTapes camouflage. When the same weapon is Pack-a-Punched again, the camouflage becomes similar to the Spectrum V2 camouflage, but instead of it being rainbow, the tiger stripes are blue.
  • Rave in the Redwoods: Single pack camouflage consists of a glowing white background with different coloured paint-like splatters overlapping the white background. Double pack camouflage is similar, but primarily yellow with a few red, blood-like splatters on the weapon.
  • Shaolin Shuffle: Single pack camouflage consists of orange animated streaks with pictures of a cartoon martial arts fighter in a white Gi and Black Belt also streaking across the weapon diagonally. Double pack camo covers the weapon in bright circular lights which change colour.
  • Attack of the Radioactive Thing: Single pack camo is green and mossy, very similar to Zetsubou No Shima, but is a dark green rather than a yellow green. The double pack camo consists of animated pictures of molecules.
  • The Beast From Beyond: Single pack camo appears as a mass of glowing green streaks covering the weapon that visibly pulse at times. Double pack camo is a scrolling mass of dark red blood.

Call of Duty: WWII[]

  • All maps: Weapons are upgraded by the Ubersprengen machine to that weapon's upgraded variant but have the option to be taken with the original camouflage applied.
  • The Final Reich, Gröesten Haus, The Darkest Dawn, The Shadowed Throne: The weapon gains an ethereal sheen of blue and orange that flow across the weapon.
  • Bodega Cervantes: The weapon is coated in a sheen of blue Geistkraft energy.
  • U.S.S. Mount Olympus: The furniture of the weapon is haphazardly coated in a water-like camo that flows like a wave.
  • Altar of Blood: Weapon's furniture painted over with a dull yellow that nears golden in specific areas. It crackles and shimmers with a similar yellow form of Geistkraft.
  • The Frozen Dawn: The weapon's furniture is replaced with a material similar to limestone and has orange markings across the entire weapon that fade in and out.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4[]

  • Voyage of Despair: The weapon is coated in a glowing rock-like camo, similar to the Gemstone camos, but visibly less shiny and rougher in texture. Furniture gains a steel-like metal coating with fancy engravings.
  • IX: The weapon is given a glossy, space-like sheen interspersed with black animated patterns that resemble ritualistic symbols. Furniture is a glowing gold.
  • Classified: Weapon camo consists of scrolling documents, blueprints and terminal screens, some depicting blueprints for appropriated Wonder Weapons, such as the Ray Gun.
  • Blood of the Dead: Weapon gains a randomized coloured sheen over a camo of black and grey, looking similar to a common deception of souls.
  • Dead of the Night: Singular randomized colour with Victorian era style ornamental filigree.
  • Ancient Evil: Camo resembles oxidized copper bearing Greek inspired designs, with various glowing sheens.
  • Alpha Omega: Camo resembles a sort of nuclear haze spread across the weapon, primarily being a sickly green but can be other colours, as with the other camos in the game.
  • Tag Der Toten: The weapon is coated in a camo that is superficially similar to the Origins camo, but without the metal embellishments. The camo itself resembles a sort of ethereal ice to reflect the cold environment of the map, with swirling yellow trails within.

Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War[]

  • Die Maschine, Firebase Z, Outbreak, Onslaught: The weapon's furniture is covered in a jagged, glowing rock texture, while the metal is made much shinier and is rendered iridescent. Colour changes upon multiple upgrades; Level 1 is yellow, Level 2 is green and Level 3 is purple. Unique to Cold War Zombies, added Elemental Ammo types are physically attached to the weapon and appear as a small battery that glows with whatever ammo type is equipped.
  • Mauer Der Toten: The weapon's furniture is covered in a teal-coloured, void-like mist with purple swirls in it, while the metal is made deeply-coloured and shiny with a hexagonal pattern across it. As opposed to the previous PaP camo, this time it is the metal parts that change colour; Level 1 is red, Level 2 is green, and Level 3 is a corroded yellow with the hexagons changed for a cavitation corrosion-style design.
  • Forsaken: The weapon is covered in a cloudy mash of two swirling colours, while furniture is covered in an oily black sheen. Level 1 is yellow and blue, Level 2 is teal and red, and Level 3 is a mix of purple, pink and orange.

Call of Duty: Vanguard[]

  • Der Anfang: Animated and brightly coloured pattern overlaid with white spots and blemishes. Level 1 is red, Level 2 is cyan and Level 3 is a deeper blue. The camouflages were not available at launch and were added during the Season One.
  • Terra Maledicta, The Archon: Weapon is covered in a camo that heavily resembles a desert boulder, with noticable cracks to give off a blockier look, as well as coloured stains leeching out of the cracks. Level 1 is tan with orange stains, Level 2 is red with black and green stains, and Level 3 is purple with teal stains.
  • Shi No Numa: The Weapon is covered with an animated camo of a scrolling rock-like texture and red pulsating lines for highlights. Level 1 has the rock texture a dull blue, Level 2 is given an oily, blue-purple sheen to the rock, while Level 3 charges the texture to look electrified. The red lines remain the same across the three levels.

Locating and accessing the Pack-a-Punch Machine[]

Treyarch Zombies maps[]

Der Riese and The Giant[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is seen on the platform where the players start, blocked off by a door. To open it, the power must be turned on and the three teleporters be linked to the mainframe. As each teleporter is linked, the door gradually opens.

Kino der Toten[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located in a small projector room above the theater. To access it, the player must turn on the power and link the teleporter in the theater to the mainframe. The teleporter can then be used to teleport the players in it to the projector room. After 30 seconds, all players will be teleported out of the room. The teleporter enters a cooldown period, and any subsequent time the players wish to access the Pack-a-Punch machine, the teleporter must be re-linked to the mainframe.

"Five"[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located in a closed panic room in the war room (middle floor). To access it, the power must be turned on and all four DEFCON switches have to be used to lower the DEFCON level to 5. After this, all the teleporters in the map will teleport players into the panic room, and the Pack-a-Punch machine will become usable for the next 30 seconds. During this time period, the players will be free of zombies (as they cannot enter the teleporter and more will not come out of the windows in the room), however after it, the panic room's doors leading into the war room will open and the Pack-a-Punch machine will become unusable. When all players have exited the panic room, the doors will close and the DEFCON resets to 1.

Another way to open the panic room and link all the teleporters to the room is to obtain the Bonfire Sale power-up, which is rewarded by killing the Pentagon Thief without having anybody's weapons stolen. The room can be accessed then, regardless of DEFCON levels.

Ascension[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located near directly below the rocket, in a small room next to the launch pad. To access it, the power must be turned on and all three Lunar Landers must be used at least once. After this, the rocket can be launched via a button next to the power switch, and after it has taken off or blown up, the big door blocking off the launch pad opens and the player can use the Pack-a-Punch machine.

Call of the Dead[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine will be randomly placed in any of three spots around the map (in a pool of water near Stamin-Up, Quick Revive or Juggernog). To access it, the player must turn on the power, after which the lighthouse's light beam starts to spin around. After a random amount of time, a lightning strike is heard and the beam will start to move radically, and will eventually stop and point to the Pack-a-Punch machine which rises up from the water. After a while, the Pack-a-Punch machine will lower back into the water and the light beam will start rotating again (the Pack-a-Punch machine cannot lower back into the water if a weapon is in it, making it safe to use even at the last second). The machine cannot be located or used when the light beam is not pointing at it.

Shangri-La[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located on the top of a staircase in the starting area, with the lower section of the stairs missing. To access it, the player must turn on the power, after which four small stone statues around the map have some parts of them spinning (the number of parts spinning is directly dependent on the amount of players in the game; if there is one player, there will be only one part spinning while if there are four players, all four parts will be spinning). These statues are located next to the Quick Revive, on the lower side of the big wooden bridge near the MP5K, next to the power switches and in the cave leading to AK-74u. Next to the statues are stone slabs, and by standing on one, a part of the statue stops moving. Once all parts stop moving (all players standing on a stone slab), the missing stairs to the Pack-a-Punch machine will emerge from the ground and the machine becomes usable. However, after a certain amount of time, water will flush down all the players on the staircase and the stairs will lower down.

Moon[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located in the No Man's Land (next to where the players start), and it can potentially be used immediately (although gaining 5000 points in the area is difficult and the player only has M1911 to upgrade). To access it again once the players teleport to the Moon, all players must stand on the teleporter pad over the power switch (it is accessible by jumping on it from the area with the AK-74u). This will teleport all players back into the No Man's Land, and the Pack-a-Punch machine can be used there. After teleporting back, the teleporter cannot be used to get back to No Man's Land until the next round.

Green Run (TranZit)[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located in a small hallway room under the bank in Town fortified by three metal doors. To access it, the player must open all doors; the first two are opened by simply blowing them up with an explosive (frag grenades are perhaps the easiest choice). The third needs power to open; a Turbine has to be placed next to the door in the Power Plant with a lightning symbol on it. As long as the Turbine is powering the door, the door in the bank will be open and the hallway with the Pack-a-Punch machine accessible. In solo play, the player should make haste to get to the Pack-a-Punch machine after placing down the Turbine as there is not much spare time after traveling from the Power Plant to the Town. After getting to the room, the Pack-a-Punch has to be built on the other end of the hallway by using the parts scattered throughout the room. After it is built, the machine can be used. If the Turbine runs out of power, the door closes, but only after all players are out of the room. It can be re-opened by placing a new Turbine next to the door in the Power Plant.

Town[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located in the lava pit in the center of the map, and it can be used without restrictions or having to solve anything beforehand. However, the player should be careful not to stand in the lava for too long as it will eventually down them. Juggernog is suggested as it won't down the player as quickly, but the same can happen if they stand in it for too long.

Nuketown Zombies[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine will be located on any of the numerous spots around the map. To access it, the players have to kill 100 zombies (the amount of remaining zombies can be seen on the "Welcome to Nuketown" sign in the center of the map), after which a meteorite will fall from the sky accompanied with a warning siren. There is a random chance for a meteorite to be the Pack-a-Punch machine or any of the available perks, with the exception of solo mode, where Quick Revive will always come first, increasing the chance of getting it earlier, and location where it will drop is also random (preset places are marked with a stack of boxes similar to a mystery box spawn). After every another 100 kills, a new meteorite will fall. Once the Pack-a-Punch machine appears as a drop, it can be used immediately.

Die Rise[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located in one of the four elevators on the skyscraper adjacent to the one where the players start. To access it, the power must be turned on, and all the elevators will start working, one of them containing the Pack-a-Punch machine. The machines will randomize each game, and it swaps places with Juggernog, Double Tap Root Beer, and Mule Kick. Do keep in mind that the elevator can move to another floor while Pack-a-Punching, which means that there is a chance for the player to lose 5000/2000 points and their weapon in the Pack-a-Punch.

Mob of the Dead[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located on the Golden Gate Bridge. It can be accessed by building Icarus and flying it to the bridge. To leave, the player must use the Electric Chairs located on the Golden Gate Bridge. In order to re-access the bridge, the player must refuel Icarus using gas cans found around the map.

Cell Block[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located on the third floor of the cell block, and it can be used without restrictions or having to solve anything beforehand, save from opening the gates to get there.

Buried[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located in a gazebo next to Stamin-Up. To access it, the power must be turned on, and the player must go through the mansion where the ghost roams and through the maze. The debris before the mansion can be destroyed with the help of Arthur, or the gate can be jumped over with the Paralyzer or Trample Steam. The Pack-a-Punch machine is at the end of the spiral staircase.

Borough[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located in front of the cemetery, and it can be used without restrictions or having to solve anything beforehand.

Origins[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is located at the Excavation Site in the middle of the map. All six 115 Generators must be activated for the Pack-a-Punch to turn on. The generator's locations are

  • Generator 1: In the starting room.
  • Generator 2: Near the workshop, by the Tank station.
  • Generator 3: Near the workshop and Speed Cola.
  • Generator 4: Far left end of the No Man's Land, by the Wind tunnel and Juggernog.
  • Generator 5: Far right end of No Man's Land, near the Lightning tunnel and Stamin-Up.
  • Generator 6: Located behind the church where the Tank can be found.

Shadows of Evil[]

To unlock the door that hides Pack-a-Punch, the player must complete all four Rituals around the map. To begin the rituals, the player will need the Summoning Key and a character specific item, which are Nero's lawyer's Fountain Pen, Jack's Badge, Floyd's Championship Belt and Jessica's manager's Hair Piece. When these items are taken to their corresponding ritual tables, the player must survive against some Keepers, with a sacrifice floating above the ritual table, screaming for help. The sacrifice will explode into blood upon the ritual completion. When completed, a Gateworm will spawn above the table; these can all be taken at once in solo and co-op. These must be taken to the Rift (underneath the Junction) and placed the Gateworms on the four podiums. When all of the worms are placed, the player must complete the final Ritual, when completed, the Shadow Man will appear thanking you for the characters services, he will then transform into an evil monster form and disappear, the Pack-a-Punch will then be open, which comes in the form of a Portal. Note that a Margwa spawns after the 2nd, 4th, and Pack-a-Punch Ritual.

Der Eisendrache[]

Pack-a-Punch can appear in three different locations around the map depending on where the pieces are teleported:

  1. Undercroft: an underground area that can only be accessed once power has been turned on. It is adjacent to the large central pillar in the room, opposite side of the pillar with the dragon statue on it.
  2. Bastion: an outdoor area behind the power switch. It is opposite the Wundersphere.
  3. Launch Pad: a small area of the map only reachable by the teleporter in the Undercroft and from the Wundersphere in the Bastion (after teleporting there and activating the landing pad). It is on the walkway just next to the rocket.

Before the Pack-a-Punch can be used, all three of its locations must be visited. Each location has pieces of the machine, and when approached, the player will be prompted to teleport the pieces. When two locations have had their pieces teleported away, the third will construct the Pack-a-Punch machine in place, and will be immediately available for use. Afterwards, the machine will occasionally move between the three locations. At each available location, there will be a board near the three locations showing which location the machine is currently at, listing them by name.

Zetsubou No Shima[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine can be accessed by draining a pool of water, which must be done by acquiring three machine tools. All the parts are acquired in rooms adjacent the bunker where it is located.

The parts are acquired as follows:

  1. The player needs to first turn on the power. A small pipe will spawn in front of where the web was in the pool of water after all the zombies are killed underwater in the power room.
  2. A valve wheel will be located somewhere in the underwater tunnels near Mule Kick.
  3. The last part is found in the room with the cocooned zombies. The player must knife the cocoons, to which one of them will drop a pressure gauge. The cocoon which holds this part is randomized every game.

The player will then be able to go back to the Pack-a-Punch chamber to fix the pumps, which will drain the water around the machine, thus allowing usage.

Gorod Krovi[]

The Pack-a-Punch machine is on the ground level of the Hatchery, a building separate from the rest of the map accessible by riding a Dragon from one of the loading platforms in the Dragon Command Center, Tank Factory, or Supply Depot.

Before the player can call the Dragon to ride to Pack-A-Punch, they must collect three Network Circuits from the Drop Pods. Zombies will randomly drop Code Cylinders (similarly to the Tram Fuses on Der Eisendrache) corresponding to one of the three loading platform locations, which the player can use to activate a Groph Module, sending a Drop Pod to a random location. The pod will have a green beacon in the sky similar to the Mystery Box to help locate it. Zombies will continually attack the Drop Pod, even during round transitions, reducing the condition from green to yellow to red until the Pod is destroyed, causing the player to wait for another Code Cylinder. If the player protects the pod, it will open, revealing a Network Circuit. Repeat the process for all three Code Cylinders and deposit the Network Circuits in a fuse box in the Operations Bunker. All three loading platforms will be permanently active, and the Dragon can be called to any of them for 500 points. Hold the "use" button to climb onto the Dragon's saddle, where a cutscene will play of the Dragon flying to the Hatchery and the saddle launching you off its back and into the building similar to the Wundersphere. It is important to note there is only one Dragon that can be ridden to Pack-a-Punch, so the player cannot call one to each loading platform.

If the player continues to call in Drop Pods after the Pack-a-Punch is already open, they will provide drops (such as Max Ammo or Insta-Kill) rather than Network Circuits.

Also of note is the ability of the Dragon Wings Easter Egg item to enable the player to instantly teleport to the Hatchery free of charge by holding the "use" button on the red light poles next to the loading platforms, as well as giving the player 30% fire and explosive damage reduction. The item is obtainable by riding the Dragon from all three platforms as well as obtaining the Dragon Strike controller and the Gauntlet of Siegfried specialist weapon. The wings can be equipped by holding the "use" button on a mannequin wearing them on the third floor of the Department Store. The wings cannot be worn along with the Valkyrie or Russian Mangler helmets.

Revelations[]

The Pack-a-Punch Machine was originally in the spawn room before being swallowed by a massive Apothicon creature. In order to retrieve it, the player must link all of the teleporters from each main location (Spawn, Mob of the Dead, Der Eisendrache and Verrückt) and then use one of them to teleport to Nacht der Untoten, where a computer like machine can be found upstairs. Once the big Apothicon monster flies in view of the machine, press the action button on the terminal, causing the monster to be zapped by four different Death Ray devices, causing it to freeze in place. Players can now enter the monster's belly, where the Pack-a-Punch Machine can be found.

Before being able to access the machine, the player must shoot the machine out of the beast's heart, causing it to drop below it, now almost fully accessable. Every weapon, other than the Apothicon Servant, will be able to be upgraded normally.

Unlike all other versions of the Pack-a-Punch, on Revelations, the machine will have a few 115 rocks inside of it. If the player shoots down 5 floating tablets across the map with the Apothicon Servant, the rocks will glow, enabling the Pack-a-Punch to upgrade the Apothicon Servant into the Estoom-Oth.

Voyage of Despair[]

In Voyage of Despair, the player must first make their way to the stern of the ship and retrieve the Sentinel Artifact. The artifact will release four orbs that will travel across the map and create altars that must be interacted with. Once all four altars have been located and interacted with, the Pack-a-Punch Machine will spawn at the last altar that was interacted with. After being used it will move to another potential spawn. The altars can be found in the following locations.

  • One is located by the artifact on the Poop Deck.
  • One is found in the Engine Room.
  • One is found at the very bottom of the Grand Staircase.
  • One is located in the Cargo Hold.

IX[]

To access the Pack-a-Punch Machine, the player must go to each of the four towers (Danu, Ra, Zeus and Odin), and must interact with a lone gong at the top floor of each tower. Interacting with it will summon the champion of each tower. After each one is defeated, they will drop a blue power-up of their head. Once all heads are acquired, the player must head underground to the temple, where a device in the center of the room is. Four spikes will be stood up from the floor, in front of the device. Place the heads onto the spikes, and shortly after, the device will glow red and be usable to Pack-a-Punch weapons for 5000 points.

Blood of the Dead[]

Before the player can unlock the Pack-a-Punch Machine, the player must acquire the Spectral Shield. Upon building the shield, the player must absorb three souls by pressing the firing button whilst holding out the shield. Once charged, the player must go to the Roof and use the shield to power a Voltmeter. Upon activating the Voltmeter, two spirits will manifest the Pack-a-Punch Machine. Like Voyage of Despair, the Pack-a-Punch Machine will move to different locations, starting with the Roof, the power room in Building 64, and finally the Power House before returning back to the roof and continuing the cycle.

Classified[]

Unlike "Five", the method to unlocking the Pack-a-Punch Machine has been changed. First, the player must acquire three parts to the Teleporter Signal Amplifier, with each part having three spawn locations in certain rooms in the map. The first part the player can get is in the Main Offices, either on a flipped over desk, near the Brew machine, or under the reception desk near the room's teleporter. The second part is within the Morgue lab, either around the head of a corpse in a circular tube, on a table to the left of the room's north exit, or on a chair to the right of the Mystery Box location. The third and final part is located where the Pack-a-Punch Machine used to be in the original "Five", which can be accessed by lowering the DEFCON level to Level 5 and taking the teleporter in the War Room to the Panic Room.

Once all three parts have been collected, the player can assemble the Teleporter Signal Amplifier at one of the buildable stations around the map. The player must now head to the War Room, where they can now pick up the teleporter device in the War Room, causing it to be placed on the yellow radar in the center of the War Room. The player must now lower the DEFCON level back to Level 5, allowing the player to use the teleporter in the War Room to teleport to Groom Lake, which is coincidentally the spawn room of Moon, albeit at night and with a few additions made to the area. There, the player can use the Pack-a-Punch Machine, as well as a teleporter to return back to the map. In order to return back to Pack-a-Punch, the player must simply lower the DEFCON level to Level 5 and retake the teleporter in the War Room.

Dead of the Night[]

To get to Pack-a-Punch located in the forest, the player must find and fill three crystals with zombie souls. Then they must gaze into the crystal and find an object in the map and complete a task.

  • Find a clock and stand inside the circle.
  • Find a perk machine and kill Nosferatu.
  • Find a painting and follow a ghost.

After the task is complete the tuning fork must be collected, then after obtaining all three the door to the forest which contains Pack-a-Punch can be opened.

Ancient Evil[]

Before Pack-a-Punch can be reached, the Sentinel Artifact must be reached and activated. After that, the player must find Pegasus's golden bridle. They must then ride Pegasus to the Pack-a-Punch area and then two eagles must be freed with a specialist weapon with one needing to be shot down first. After both are free, proceed to Pack-a-Punch and after waiting awhile it will be unlocked.

Alpha Omega[]

In order to reach Pack-a-Punch, the power must be turned on, afterwards the player needs to proceed to the bunker and activate the ventilation system. After that is complete, four vents located around the map need to be activated, which can be identified by Nova 6 gas leaking. When all four are activated Pack-a-Punch can be used, although it is possible for the vents to shut off again.

Tag der Toten[]

Pack-a-Punch can be reached by turning on two power switches, one near the docks (spawn), and the other in the bridge of the wrecked ship. Then go to the cave be the lighthouse and knife a blue rock, then take it to the top of the lighthouse and give it to the hermit. After that Pack-a-Punch can be used.

After Pack-a-Punch is activated, Golden Pack-a-Punch can also be used after doing a few more things. First the player needs a zipline handle which can be acquired by picking up, repairing and turning two cranks at each end of the ship. After that, return to the lighthouse to get the zipline handle. Then take the zipline to the facility at the top of the cliff and turn on the power. After the power is on, go to the ship and pick up a broken flinger box, take it to the lighthouse to get it repaired. After that, take it back to the flinger and then Golden Pack-a-Punch can be accessed by using a flinger. Golden Pack-a-Punch will immediately upgrade a weapon to its highest level.

Die Maschine[]

Pack-a-Punch is located in the middle of the Particle Accelerator. It can be acquired by entering the Dark Aether anomaly that initially spawns in the Particle Accelerator, and going through a select Aether Tunnel. Once the Aether Tunnel is used and the player is transported to the Pack-a-Punch part, pick it up and head back to the center of the Particle Accelerator and the "Machine" will be crafted once the player exits the Dark Aether.

Firebase Z[]

Pack-a-Punch is located in the Village Atrium, next to Ravenov's window. In order to acquire it, all three Aether Reactors must be activated. Once the power is restored, Ravenov will urge Requiem to return to his station to use the machine.

Mauer der Toten[]

Pack-a-Punch is located at Checkpoint Charlie, where the player must confront the Dark Aether by defeating a Disciple. Afterwards, the machine will be unlocked.

Forsaken[]

Pack-a-Punch is located at the Observation Tower. The player will have a limited time to use the machine before the Aetherium radiation in the room will begin to damage them, forcing the player to leave.

Der Anfang[]

Pack-a-Punch is located directly at spawn, next to the Altar of Covenants.

Terra Maledicta[]

Pack-a-Punch is located across from the Crafting Table at the spawn.

Shi No Numa (Vanguard)[]

Pack-a-Punch is located at the Dig Site, next to the Crafting Table.

The Archon[]

The Pack-a-Punch is located at Merchant Road, where it has been split into various spectral pieces, similarly to Die Maschine. The two parts needed to rebuild the Pack-a-Punch can be found at the following locations.

  • At the edge of the plane wing at The Spike.
  • On top of one of the crashed train carriages at Derailment.

Once the parts are located, they must be placed at the base part back at Merchant Road. A Sturmkrieger will spawn and must be defeated. Afterwards, zombies' souls must be collected near the Pack-a-Punch before it is re-assembled and ready for use.

Infinite Warfare[]

Zombies in Spaceland[]

The Pack-a-Punch Machine returns in Zombies in Spaceland. It has received a complete overhaul in terms of appearance, now resembling a theatre projector. In order to access it, players must activate the portals in each of the four parks around the map and then travel through them. Doing this will lead them towards the center portal, which will lead them to the Pack-a-Punch Machine once all four are active.

Rave in the Redwoods[]

In order to gain access to the Pack-a-Punch Machine, the player must first turn on the power. Once done, there are three parts around the map to a boat engine that need to be collected in order to travel to Turtle Island. The locations of the parts are as followed:

  1. In the Mess Hall, leaning on the pole in the center of the room, next to a trash can.
  2. In the room where Tuff 'Nuff is located in the cabin, to the right of the bunks when entering the room.
  3. In the Recreation Area, leaning again the booth below the camper near the entrance to the Old Marvin Mine.

Once the parts have been collected, head over to the boat launch at the White Tail Beach. There, the boat will be ready for use. Before going onto the boat, there is a film reel to the left of the entrance of the building where the boat is. Pick up the reel and board the boat. The boat will take the player to Turtle Island, where a broken film projector can be found in the cabin. Outside of the cabin by the zipline is another film reel. Pick it up and with the two film reels, insert them into the projector, causing a portal to the Projector Room to open up, where the player can Pack-a-Punch their weapons.

Shaolin Shuffle[]

Like Rave in the Redwoods, the player must assemble a few parts before the player can access the Pack-a-Punch, which is located in a portal found in a backroom in the Pink Cat. Three parts are required: a flyer for the Pink Cat, a token and a film reel. The locations for each part is as followed:

Pink Cat Flyer

  • In the alleyway between the barber shop and the Black Cat Dojo, on a pile of trash.
  • On a fold up chair directly across from the breakable wooden door by Racin' Stripes.
  • On a stool on the roof of the Inferno Club.
  • In front of the Pink Cat, on the sidewalk.

Token

  • Always underneath the Tuff 'Nuff machine in the sewers.

Film Reel

  • On a couch by the Skullbuster machine in the Inferno Club.
  • On a pile of boxes inside the second subway by the lockers.
  • Inside the Pink Cat, on a chair.
  • On a crate by the door closest to Tuff 'Nuff.
  • Inside the Rat King's lair, inside one of the sewer pipes.

Once the Pink Cat flyer has been obtained, the player can open the two main doors into the building. With the token, the player can open up a small backroom with a broken projector, which can be fixed with the film reel. Once the film reel has been added, the portal to the Pack-a-Punch Machine will open.

Attack of the Radioactive Thing[]

In Attack of the Radioactive Thing, accessing the Pack-a-Punch Machine is a bit more complicated than in previous maps. The player must head to the TV station and talk to Elvira. After doing so, the player must pick up Elvira's spell book from the ice cream store and return it to her. Then, Elvira will give the player an empty vial that the player has to fill by killing zombies with the Cleaver. After having filled the vial, give it to Elvira in order to summon her. After she is summoned, the player has to lead her to a blue portal and she will activate it, allowing the player to access the projection room. The closest portal is right outside the TV station, next to the Magic Wheel. After accessing the projection room for the first time, the player will have to look at the sky to see where has the portal for the Pack-a-Punch spawned.

The Beast From Beyond[]

In The Beast From Beyond, the Pack-a-Punch portal is located in the outside area across a destroyed bridge. There are three parts around the map that must be collected to repair the bridge and access the portal. These parts do not move between games.

  • Directly next to Blue Bolts in the Medical Bay.
  • In the Cargo Bay, wedged between the lowest staircase and a crate.
  • Outside the Afterlife Theater, atop a crushed car to the right of the portal leading to the hallway by the Medical Bay.

WWII[]

The Final Reich[]

The Ubersprengen is located in the heart of the sewers. It can be found encased by a bone-like cage. Directly in front of the MP-40 weapon locker, there is a red button the player must press. Pressing it will cause the cage to slightly rise and open the three Disposal Tubes around the map.

The player must now use all three Disposal Tubes around the map. Doing so will bring the player into a cage in the sewer, which will immediately rise and turn on a button in the cage. Pressing the button will cause the cage to rise even more. Doing this until all three button are pressed will unlock the Ubersprengen for the rest of the game.

Occasionally, when the player presses a button in a cage, sometimes the button won't work immediately, triggering an event which causes the whole room to be engulfed by a red fog, with several Pests spawning in. The player must eliminate the Pests before the part of the cage will rise up automatically.

Gröesten Haus[]

In Gröesten Haus, the machine doesn't directly appear in the map, although weapons in the map can still be upgraded. To do this, the player first must aqcuire the Jack-in-the-Box from the Mystery Box. When the player obtains the Jack-in-the-Box, they must throw one onto one of the wooden support beams above the staircase closest to the MP-40, where a visable Jack-in-the-Box logo can be seen. Once the Jack-in-the-Box explodes and the logo disappears, the player must now acquire 10,000 Jolts and interact with the piano outside of the Mystery Box room. The piano will take the 10,000 Jolts from the player, but as a result, all of the weapons in the Mystery Box will now be upgraded for the duration of the match.

The Darkest Shore[]

To unlock the Ubersprengen, the player must first turn on both power switches in the map, with one being located in the U-Boat Pens and the other being located in the Artillery Bunker. The player must now head over to Bunker 3, where a broken lift with a control panel is located. Here, the panel will already have one of four Elektroschnalle installed. The player must interact with this panel before the player can search for the other three Elektroschnalle.

The player must now ride the minecart between each of the three stops (U-Boat Pens to the Beach, the Beach to Bunker 1, and Bunker 1 to the U-Boat Pens). Along each of the three paths are three different Elektroschnalle, all of which are located in the main junction that connects the three places. When the player passes by an Elektroschnalle, it will give a brief prompt to pick it up. Upon picking it up, the player's character will say an audio quote. Once the player has obtained all three Elektroschnalle from the mine, the player can install them in the panel by Bunker 3, which will raise the lift and reveal the Ubersprengen, which can then be used by the player. Upon doing this for the first time, the player will be rewarded the Going Up... achievement/trophy.

The Shadowed Throne[]

The Uberspregen is located in a broken elevator within the Destroyed Building. To first gain access to it, the player must open two fuse boxes around the map with the use of explosives, the first being on a wall to the left of the elevator and the other being in the Underbelly, on the left wall of the caged off tunnel. After opening them both, the player must use the Wunderbuss to zap both of them until a part of the Ubersprengen is revealed. Once both fuse boxes are zapped for a little bit, the Ubersprengen will be fully unlocked. Upon doing this for the first time, the player will be rewarded the Das ist gut achievement/trophy.

The Tortured Path[]

An Ubersprengen is located on each of the three chapters of The Tortured Path; the first is located in the windmill in "Into the Storm", the second is located in the Barracks next to the Medical Bay in "Across the Depths", and the third is located on the right side of the map near the Waffenbox for Submachine Guns. To unlock the Ubersprengen on each of the three maps, the player will kill zombies near special Ubersprengen devices around the map. However, they will only unlock after certain points, with the first device being available on Wave 1, the second becoming available starting on Wave 4, and the final being available starting on Wave 7. Once all three devices are filled, the Ubersprengen will be unlocked.

Bodega Cervantes / U.S.S. Mount Olympus / Altar of Blood[]

Each of the Ubersprengens located on each survival map are located in the exact same locations as they are in The Tortured Path. However, the devices will activate on different waves instead, the waves being Waves 1, 5, and 10. There is also a small easter egg on each of the survival maps that reward the player with a red battery, which inserts itself into the Ubersprengen. This allows players to upgrade the Tesla GunRipsaw and melee weapons immediately.

The Frozen Dawn[]

The Ancient Ubersprengen is located in the Lost in Blood area, which is only accessible through using one of the Blood Teleporters around the map. In order to resurface the Ubersprengen, the player will need to use each of the three Blood Teleporters around the map. One is located in the Crash Site, one is located in the Passage, and the final teleporter is located in the Blood Altar. Players will get roughly 60 seconds inside the Lost in Blood location to access the Ubersprengen, before they will be teleported back out. The Crash Site teleporter leads to the Passage, the Passage teleporter leads to the Blood Altar, and the Blood Altar leads to the Crash Site.

Trivia[]

General[]

  • There is a picture with a "no symbol" (a red circle with a diagonal slash inside) over a hand, indicating that one should be careful not to get their hand caught when putting their weapon into the machine.
  • On the top left of the machine, there are coffee stains. Only one stain is visible in TranZit, Nuketown Zombies, Die Rise, and Buried, due to the fact that a car battery is placed atop the machine.
  • In most maps, when a weapon is being Pack-a-Punched, a small red flag that says "Please Wait" rises on the right side of the Ray Gun depictions, above the machine.
  • Above the machine, there are two depictions of a Ray Gun, one with a 'flaccid' barrel and the other with an 'erect' barrel.
  • The weapon inside the machine will slowly retract back into the machine, meaning there is a limited time to collect the upgraded weapon.
  • The backing track used for the Pack-a-Punch jingle comes from a stock track entitled "Rodeo Junior". [2]
  • There was a cut extended version of the machine's jingle.

Call of Duty: World at War[]

  • In the Spanish, Polish, French, Italian, Czech and Russian versions, the names of the guns will remain the same after being Pack-a-Punched.
  • This rendition of the Pack-a-Punch machine has different lettering and shapes backing the letters on the sign on top of the machine. They are squares and very vibrant; in all other games featuring this style of Pack-a-Punch Machine (Black Ops 1, 2, 3, 4, Cold War & Vanguard), the backing shapes are changed to diamonds or rhombuses, and are faded in colour.

Call of Duty: Black Ops[]

  • On the Nintendo Wii version, the Pack-a-Punch Machine itself looks different since the machine consists of brighter colors.
  • On the Nintendo Wii version, after Pack-a-Punching a weapon, the gun's design is yellow and blue. It still retains the purple muzzle flash, but some weapons lack the strange firing sounds.
  • In Moon, the player can use the Hacker on the Pack-a-Punch machine. This will give the player 1000 points and temporarily close the gates around the machine.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II[]

  • Most future weapons can be put to the Pack-a-Punch machine with 2000 points after they have already been upgraded, which gives it a new attachment (and removes previously existing). Players must note that the Pack-a-Punch does not replenish ammunition for future weapons that are already Pack-a-Punched.
    • The price for the subsequent upgrades is shown as 5000 instead of 2000.
  • In Green Run, Nuketown Zombies, Die Rise and Buried, the Pack-a-Punch machine now sits on top of a table with three legs, the missing leg being replaced by a brick. In addition, a battery sits on top to the left, providing power to the machine.
  • Much like Perk-a-Cola machines, the Pack-a-Punch can be deactivated with an EMP grenade, causing the current weapon to be lost inside.
    • It will turn back on right after deactivating.
  • In Mob of the Dead and Cell Block, the Pack-a-Punch machine and the Perk-a-Cola machines have a strange static effect on them. In addition, their colors are dull and their jingles are simply chimes.
  • Brutus cannot disable the Pack-a-Punch machine, unlike Perk-a-Cola machines.
  • Russman adores the Pack-a-Punch Machine, and, sympathetically, calls it an "Angel Machine".

Call of Duty: Black Ops III[]

  • According to a quote by Richtofen in The Giant, the Pack-A-Punch machine was created by a blacksmith in the old west. According to an unreleased version of the Pack-A-Punch Jingle the blacksmith's name is Jeb Brown.
