Belov was a spy in the KGB responsible for all info passed from the Capitalist side of the Iron Curtain to the Communist side. According to Ryan Jackson, Belov knew every Eastern Bloc asset in Western German by name. This made him a target by the CIA. Alex Mason set out on a mission to capture him, but along the way, found paper intel on what they needed to know. With Belov's information now useless to the CIA, Mason set out to kill him. In the final room of the building, Mason opened the door and Belov lunged at him with a knife. Mason grabbed his knife, punched him in the face, and turned him around towards the other soldiers in the room. He placed C4 on his back, stabbed it in with a knife, and detonated it, killing Belov and some of the soldiers.
