Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Edit
Like War from World at War, five flags or capture points are placed on the map. When the game begins, the central capture point is active, and whichever team captures it moves the active capture point towards the enemy side, where the process repeats. The game ends when one team successfully captures the last point on the line.
If no team has captured all of their points, the game will set into Overtime. Unlike War, however, there are three flags to be captured instead of one. The game ends if one team successfully captures all three points or if no team captures all of the points (in which case the match ends in a draw).
The Momentum System Edit
The Momentum system returns and is the same (hence the name of the gamemode). There is a bar below in the HUD. As a team racks up more kills, the bar will continue to fill up. Once it reaches the halfway mark, the team will be rewarded with "momentum", which rewards them with 2x flag capture speed. If the bar is completely filled, then the team will gain 3x capture speed (also known as "Blitzkrieg" from Call of Duty: World at War). Just like War in World at War, the momentum is lost and reset if the enemy team captures a flag.
