The National Security Agency (also referred as the NSA) is a cryptological intelligence agency for the United States of America, which directs a variety of collection and analysis of foreign signal intelligence and communications. It is also responsible for the security of government communications.

The agency is featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. In the mission "Endgame", players undertake the role of Cpt. John "Soap" MacTavish, who chases General Shepherd out of Site Hotel Bravo. It is an unplayable faction in the game, only mentioned once in the intro scene collecting and intercepting Captain Price's message to kill Shepherd. There is also no confirmed character in the agency in-game.

In Call of Duty: Black Ops, it is revealed that the interrogation room Alex Mason is being held in is located inside the National Security Agency. The player even gets the chance to explore the complex during Mason's attempted escape.

In Call of Duty: Ghosts, Castle says that Samantha Cross "turned down a seven figure contract with the NSA to dig holes in the jungle", in Intel from Nightfall.
