"We are almost upon the Oder River. From there, it is less than 70 kilometers to the lair of the fascist beast!"
— Colonel Andropov in his orders of the day

Plot[]

The Red Army is nearing the Oder River and will soon break through into the German heartland. Due to a personnel shortage in the 2nd Guards Tank Army, Colonel G. V. Andropov has requisitioned replacements in the infantry, including Sergeant Alexei Voronin in light of his superb combat record.

Voronin, now the commander of a T-34/85 tank, participates in an armored push to the Oder River. His tank and the others cross a snowy field over a ridge and towards a stream. Several Panzer IV and Tiger I tanks fire at them from across the stream, but are destroyed by the Soviet tanks. The tanks turn right at the stream and push over a bridge to the northeast. On the other side of a river, several German tanks are fording across alongside German infantry. Once the T-34s clear this area, destroying all the tanks, they move west into a forest. German infantry with Panzerfausts fire from behind rocks and trees. Once the tanks fight their way forward along the road, they drive up a slope and are engaged by even more German tanks. Driving around a curve in the road, they continue fighting German tanks and infantry until the enemy forces are eliminated and the path is clear. The road west will lead to the town that is the Soviet objective.

Trivia[]

  • When destroying the enemy tanks, enemy troops will leap from the burning tank and then die. Despite this, the enemy troops in the destroyed tank are not on fire.
  • The player cannot betray allies in this mission. Attempting to shoot at another allied tank will not destroy it.
