The Pommel of Barbarossa is a special tactical weapon that appears in the Call of Duty: WWII Nazi Zombies maps The Darkest Shore and The Tortured Path. It is a piece of the Sword of Barbarossa that was recovered by the MFAA team that was sent to Heligoland.

Overview[]

The Pommel can only be acquired during the map's main easter egg, being located within Nerthus's hidden sacrificial chamber. Once the player has done all three sacrifices involving a Pest, Wüstling and Meuchler, the player can obtain the Monk's head and bring it to the chamber. There, the player must place the Monk's head on the last hook, which will seal the player in the room again once every player in the game is in the room. The player must now fill the crevasses in the floor with blood by killing zombies. Once done, the head the statue of Nethus is holding will disappear, revealing the Pommel, to which every player can grab.

The Pommel will replace the player's Jack-in-the-Box if they have them. When thrown onto the ground, it will create an explosion that will instantly kill zombies. The explosion will then form an energy bubble, which will explode afterwards, killing zombies caught in the second explosion. The Pommel also has roughly a 10-15 second cooldown time before it automatically regenerates in the player's inventory.
