[edit] History

The RGD-33 Grenade was created in 1933 from the Model 1914 grenade which was used during World War I. The RGD-33 Grenade was later used by the Soviet Union during World War II after the Germans invaded Russia. The RGD-33 Grenade was replaced by the RG-42 because it was difficult to use and hard to make.

The RGD-33 Grenade uses a 3.5 to 4 second fuse. The RGD-33 Grenade was a dependable weapon because it packs a powerful punch can be thrown about 30 to 40 meters. When the RGD-33 Grenade detonates it has a small explosion radius which makes the grenade useful for infantry.

The RGD-33 Grenade has an optional "jacket" which is a thick metal fragmentation sleeve weighing around 270 grams. When fitted over the grenade the sleeve improves the lethal radius by producing a number of diamond shaped heavier fragments which are lethal over a greater distance.
